Mumbai Indians IPL 2025: Full Schedule, Key Players, Squad and Playing 11
The highly-awaited schedule of IPL 2025 has been released by the BCCI and reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) & Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are all set to lock horns versus each other in the opening contest at Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens Stadium. The 10 participating teams will collide against each other in a total of 70 group stage games and four Knockout matches in a span of two months across 13 different venues.
At the same time, the most prestigious franchise of the cash-rich T20 league, Mumbai Indians (MI) will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign on the 23rd of March. They will be taking on fierce rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their very first match of the season and fans will get the chance to witness the El Clasico fever in the first week of the tournament itself.
Following the conclusion of the game versus CSK, the Mumbai-based team will then take on the Gujarat Giants on the 29th of March at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They will play their final league fixture of the 18th season versus the Delhi Capitals on the 15th of May, 2025.
The good thing is that this time around, fans will get the chance to witness the El Clasico of the IPL twice this season. After the match in Chennai on the 23rd of March, the two rivals will then clash against each other once again on the 20th of April.
Mumbai Indians IPL 2025: Key players of the five-time winners this season
Rohit Sharma - Team India's captain Rohit Sharma will be seen playing the t20 format for the first time in IPL 2025 since the 2024 T20 World Cup final and it would be interesting to see how he performs in the format after a gap of more than a year. He recently scored a hundred in the 2nd ODI versus England and if he has a good Champions Trophy 2025 and enters the IPL with the same form, then the Mumbai crowd will be in for a treat.
Hardik Pandya (Captain) - The skipper of the Mumbai Indians Hardik Pandya faced a lot of backlash and criticism from the fans during the previous edition of the tournament but his exceptional performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup has changed the opinions of the fans towards Junior Pandya and all the supporters have started to admire him. It would be interesting to see in what manner the Mumbai crowd gets behind the back of the skipper
Suryakumar Yadav - Team India's T20 International skipper Suryakumar Yadav a.k.a SKY is a vital cog of the squad of MI. The star batter is currently going through a lean run of form with the bat as he hasn't scored runs for a really long time. It would be interesting to see if SKY manages to regain his mojo back before the commencement of the 18th season of the cash-rich league.
Trent Boult - Kiwi seamer Trent Boult is all set to make his comeback in blue & gold as he will be seen playing for the Mumbai Indians once again for the first time since IPL 2021. The 35-year-old left-arm pacer alongside the duo of Jasprit Bumrah & Deepak Chahar will surely form an unplayable pace bowling attack and the opposition teams will have to be wary of the threats posed by the 3 with the ball.
Jasprit Bumrah - Premier Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will not be seen playing in the Champions Trophy 2025 as the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee decided not to take a risk with his fitness despite him being declared fit by the NCA. Well, it's good news for the MI fans as they will get the chance to witness a full-fledged fit version of Bumrah in IPL 2025 and the deadly seamer will be raring to dominate the batters once again with his deadly pace, bounce, and yorkers.
