Mumbai had a forgettable season in TATA IPL 2022. The team will be keen to make a lasting impression on TATA IPL 2023. Suryakumar Yadav, the senior batter in an interview said, ?The Mumbai Indians will anyhow get their hands on their 6th IPL trophy in TATA IPL 2023?. This is the kind of confidence that the players playing in the gold and blue have. The Mumbai Indians have always depended on the all-rounders to maintain a good balance in their squad. They have had the likes of Kieron Pollard and the Pandya brothers. They will be keen on creating a similar middle-order next season. Here is an in-depth look at the same:

1) Shivam Dube can play for the Mumbai Indians in TATA IPL 2023:

It is high time that Shivam Dube performs to his potential and gets a well-defined role. Dube is a local boy. He is well-acquainted with the Wankhede pitch. His performance with the bat in the recently concluded IPL was above average. CSK used him at times as a finisher and at times as a top-order batsman. They failed to give him a well-defined role. This can be a good chance for Mumbai to bag a player like Shivam. Mumbai must hope that CSK liquidates this asset and let him in the auction.

Shivam can be a perfect replacement for Hardik Pandya as he is an Indian fast-bowling all-rounder. Dube will also have local support from the fans while he is playing at the Wankhede. He is a good player of the short ball and makes use of his height to counter the bounce. On his day he can take the game away single-handedly.

2) Krishnappa Gowtham:

Krishnappa Gowtham and his career are no less than a roller-coaster. He was picked for 9.2 Crore Indian Rupees making him the most expensive uncapped player in the history of the IPL. Gowtham didn?t play a single game that season for the men in yellow and was dropped the next season. He won the IPL 2021 season along with the men in yellow. In the TATA IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Lucknow Super Giants made an absolute steal by picking the player from Tamil Nadu for 80 lakhs. Mumbai must hope that LSG liquidates this player.

Krishnappa is a two-time IPL champion. He has once won the title with Mumbai in 2017 and once with CSK in 2021. He can be the replacement for Krunal Pandya that Mumbai is looking for. Gowtham was scouted by Mumbai Indians itself. It shows that the men in blue back the abilities of this talented player. He can bowl right arm orthodox and can easily bat at number 7. Not to forget the match in TNPL where Gowtham scored a 100 in the first innings and picked an 8-wicket haul in the same match.

3) Tim David can play for the Mumbai Indians in TATA IPL 2023:

The biggest mistake made by the Mumbai Indians this season was that they dropped Tim David from the squad after he failed to fire in the first 2 games of the season. The above are the words of Sunil Gavaskar. This view of his shows how impressive Tim has been in the final opportunities he got. In the second last game of the season, he almost got the Mumbai Indians home by scoring 46 runs in 16 balls. He was hitting sixes at will. He was taking all the bowlers to the cleaners. In the match against the Delhi Capitals, which happened to be the last game for Mumbai, Tim scored a match-winning 34. The big Singaporean needs to be backed by the men in blue. The MI management has to use him more effectively. Mumbai will be retaining Tim David for sure.
