New Selection Committee for team India to be formed in January 2023: Reports: The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is scheduled to meet on 30th December to formally begin the process of formation of a new selection committee for the Indian team. The three-member CAC panel led by Ashok Malhotra will have a physical meeting in the BCCI?s Mumbai office. The other two members of the committee are Sulakshana Naik and Jatin Paranjpe.

As per the reports, the CAC will have discussions with the top BCCI office-bearers before finalising the names. The committee will shortlist the potential candidates for the aforementioned roles and the interviews will be held after consulting with the top office bearers of the cricket board.

The CAC will shortlist the best possible candidates from the list of a large number of applications. It is believed that all the applications have been forwarded to the CAC for further processing.

As of now, the officials are keen on taking in-person interviews rather than virtually calling the shortlisted names. The same details will be conveyed to the BCCI, which will further coordinate the travel and interviews of the shortlisted candidates.

Notably, the Indian squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka series has already been announced and there is no immediate need for rushing into things. Thus the formation of team India?s new selection committee may take some time.
