No Ball Controversy: Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur, Amre fined for breaching IPL code of conduct: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has punished Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant, all-rounder Shardul Thakur and coach Pravin Amre for breaching the IPL code of conduct during the last game between DC and RR.
Rajasthan Royals claimed a 15 run victory against Delhi Capitals, last night, in the Wankhede Stadium, which was overshadowed by the final over the controversy due to poor umpiring.
As per the statement released by the Indian Premier League, DC skipper Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Shardul Thakur have been fined 100 per cent and 50 per cent of their match fee respectively for not abiding by the IPL rules and regulations.
Moreover, coach Pravin Amre, who stepped onto the field amid the no-ball controversy has been handed a one-match ban along with 100 per cent of his match fee.
The incident happened in the final over of DC?s innings when the Capitals required 36 off the final six balls. Hitter Rovman Powell was at strike and he smoked two consecutive sixes off the first two deliveries of Obed McCoy.
Obed delivered the third ball, which was a hip-high-full-toss, and that too was smoked for a six by Povman Powell, however, the entire DC camp demanded it be called a no-ball. Everybody from the DC dugout was shocked and infuriated with the umpires, who didn?t even refer the decision to TV umpires.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant from the dugout signalled the two batters to walk off the field. Coach Pravin Amre stepped into the field to have a word with the umpire, Nitin Menon.
Following a couple of minutes of heat and anger, the match progressed ahead. Obed McCoy successfully defended the 36 runs off his final over and got RR over the line with 15 runs to spare.
Later, Pant accepted his offence as well as the sanctions imposed by the IPL, and so did Shardul Thakur and assistant coach Pravin Amre.
Notably, the entire cricketing world has strongly criticized the behaviour which Delhi portrayed in the last match. Cricket, being called a gentleman?s game, shouldn?t be ruined by such unethical acts from the professionals.
