The 37-year-old Rohit Sharma holds the world the record of slamming three double-centuries in One Day Cricket and he's also the only batsman in the world to do so. This world record is very unlikely to be broken any time time soon. The Hitman used to bat in the middle-order in One Day Cricket till 2012 but as soon as he got the opportunity to open the inning, he did wonders and scored a flurry of runs.

1. 209 runs versus Australia in Bengaluru
Rohit Sharma's first maiden double-century in One Day Cricket came versus Australia in 2013. He played a brilliant knock of 209 runs in 158 deliveries in a match played at iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium of Bengaluru on the 2nd of November in 2013. His knock consisted of 12 fours and 16 big sixes. The Men in Blue won this contest versus the Aussies by a margin of 57 runs.
2. 264 runs versus Sri Lanka in Kolkata
On the 13th of November 2014, in the One Day International match played versus Sri Lanka in the city of Mohali, the Hitman Rohit Sharma went berserk and created a world record as he played a monstrous inning of 264 runs, a record which no batter has been able to break till date. This was his second Double-Hundred in the format and he became the only batsman in the world to do so.
The opening batter destroyed the entire bowling unit of Sri Lanka as he smashed them to all parts of the ground in his 264 runs knock. He faced a total of 173 balls and smacked 33 fours and nine beautiful sixes. He scored 186 runs out of 264 with the help of fours & sixes. Thanks to this amazing knock of the Hitman, Team Indian secured the victory in this contest by a margin of 153 runs.
3. 208 runs not out versus Sri Lanka in Mohali
On the 13th of December of 2017, in the Mohali One Day International match versus the Sri Lankans, Rohit Sharma scored the third double hundred of his career as he played a fantastic knock of 208. He played 115 balls to complete his century. Then, he upped the gear and took just 36 deliveries to complete his double century. This was also the second best score by a player in One Day Cricket as a skipper.
The record of the highest individual score as the captain in ODI's is in the name of Indian legend Virender Sehwag. The legendary opening batter played an awesome knock of 219 runs versu the Windies at the Holkar Stadium of Indore in December of 2011.
