Not fair to make comparison between Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni: Sourav Ganguly: Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday, May 24th said that it is unfair to compare young Rishabh Pant to veteran MS Dhoni as the latter's captaincy experience is unmatchable.

A few days ago, Rishabh Pant drew fans? flak after committing a few tactical blunders in Delhi Capitals? last league stage match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Wankhede Stadium.

The DC skipper didn?t take a DRS call against danger man Tim David, which cost them their place in the playoff. David had nicked the ball and it went straight to Rishabh Pant, the skipper was excited and was running to call for DRS, however, his teammates were unmoved and heard no sound which forced Pant to not waste the DRS.

However, the replays showed that the ball clearly kissed Tim David?s bat and it would have been a game-changing DRS, had DC taken it. Tim David went beserk after getting life from Delhi and slammed 11-ball 34 and snatched victory from Delhi?s hands.

In the entire tournament, Rishabh Pant?s captaincy was under public scrutiny as there were several tactical blunders that were committed by the DC skipper.

Notably, a lot of times Pant has been compared with legendary cricketer MS Dhoni. The fans and experts look at Rishabh Pant as MS Dhoni?s successor in the Indian team, however, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has said that it?s unfair to compare Rishabh Pant with MS Dhoni.

"Don't compare Pant with MS Dhoni. Dhoni has so much experience. He has captained in 500-plus games in IPL, Tests and ODIs. So it's not fair for Rishabh to be compared with Dhoni," Ganguly said, as quoted by the PTI.

Ganguly not worried about Rohit and Virat's form:

He further backed, both, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to return back to their best form after a disappointing season in the Indian Premier League.

"They are very good players. I'm sure they will be back among runs. They play so much cricket that at times they go out of form. Kohli played very well in the last game, especially when it was required for RCB.

"That's why he (Kohli) was so happy that RCB qualified. They are all great players, it's a matter of time before they will be at their best," Ganguly added.
