PAK vs BAN

PAK vs BAN: Mushfiqur Rahim has registered his name in the record books as the ongoing Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has turned out to be a run-fest for the batters. It is one of the flattest pitches in Pakistan.

As a result, the batters from both sides have made the most of this opportunity. Batting first, Pakistan declared at 448/6 with a century each from Mohammad Rizwan (171*) and Saud Shakeel (141). Bangladesh also did well, and Mushfiqur Rahim has bagged a big score.

The veteran wicket-keeper batter registered his 11th test hundred. He was looking good to score his fourth Test double century, but he was unlucky and missed a well-deserved Test double hundred by just nine runs. Rahim scored 191 runs off 341 balls, with 22 fours and one six.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who came out to bat at No. 5, went on to add a record 196-run stand for the seventh wicket with Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Bot batters toiled with the Pakistani bowlers and didn’t give them an inch. It is now Bangladesh’s highest seventh-wicket stand in Test cricket.

It is also the highest seventh-wicket stand against Pakistan in Tests. Adding to that, with his 191-run knock in the ongoing PAK vs BAN test, Mushfiqur scored his 11th Test ton and went past Tamim Iqbal’s tally (10). Rahim has now the second-most Test ton for Bangladesh.

With this, Rahim’s 191 is now the 6th highest individual score in a test, and it is the highest score by a Bangladeshi batter on Pakistan’s soil. Mushfiqur Rahim also became the oldest Bangladeshi batter (37 years and 104 days) to score a Test century.

He also became only the second Bangladeshi batter to complete 15000 runs in international cricket. Rahim has now scored 15159 runs and is only behind Tamim Iqbal (15249) for most runs for Bangladesh in international cricket.

The century in the ongoing PAK vs BAN first test is the fifth overseas ton for Rahim, and he has now scored most overseas centuries for Bangladesh. The visitors have taken the lead by more than 100 runs, but it looks like this game is heading towards a draw.
