PAK vs NZ: Mohammad Rizwan creates HISTORY, Leaves behind Virat Kohli, Babar Azam | Fastest to 3000 T20I Runs

PAK vs NZ: Pakistan's senior wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan, on Saturday night, added another feather to his glorious cap after he became the fastest batter to score 3000 T20I runs. The batter achieved this feat during Pakistan's second T20I fixture against New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Rizwan scored an unbeaten 45 runs in 34 deliveries in the 2nd PAK vs NZ T20I at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, which also saw him break the record of fastest batter to 3000 or more T20I runs.
The seasoned batter required 19 runs to reach the 3000 runs to complete the milestone. Rizwan took just 79 innings to score 3000 or more runs in the T20I format.
With Rizwan scoring 3000 T20I runs in just 79 innings, he left behind the likes of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, who have achieved the same feat in 81 T20I innings.
Notably, Babar Azam achieved this feat in 2022 in Lahore, while Virat Kohli got the feather to his decorated cap in 2021 in Ahmedabad.
Following his exploits in the PAK vs NZ 2nd T20I, Mohammad Rizwan has become the eighth international batter to score 3000 runs in the shortest format of the game.
Rizwan has 3026 runs to his name in 79 innings at an average of 49.60. However, his strike rate has been on the slower side, which reads - 127.62.
PAK vs NZ: Fastest to 3000 T20I Runs List
So far, eight international players, including Mohammad Rizwan, have scored 3000 or more runs in T20I cricket. The first one to achieve this milestone was Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli. He was followed by New Zealand's Martin Guptill, who took 101 innings to cross the milestone in 2021.
