Pakistan likely to host the Qualifiers of the Women's ODI World Cup 2025 - Reports

The Cricket playing nation of Pakistan, after successfully securing the rights host the upcoming ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, is all set to host yet another major ICC event in 2025 - The Qualifiers of the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025.

According to multiple Pakistani media reports, the matches of the qualifiers will be played in multiple cities across the country in the month of April, ahead of the ODI Women's Cup in India later this year. 

This event will feature women's Cricket teams from six countries, including the provisional hosts Pakistan, Ireland, Bangladesh, Thailand, Scotland and the West Indies

The finalists of this upcoming qualifying event will advance to the upcoming mega women's event of this year, the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025 and they will join the top six teams from the 2022-2025 ICC Women's Championship for the eight-team tournament.

The main motive of the Shaheens who will also be taking part in the qualifiers, will be to secure their qualification berth and perform well in the upcoming matches. Also, the Pakistani media reports claim that the qualifying matches of the Women's ODI World Cup 2025 are anticipated to commence on the 4th of April and culminate on the 19th of April, with Pakistani cities like Lahore & Karachi expected to play host to majority of the games. 

In order to prepare in a thorough manner for the Women's qualifiers, the PCB has gone ahead and decided to launch a training camp of 27-days for the Women's National Cricket Team of Pakistan at Faisalabad's High-Performance Academy (HPA). 

The camp, which started from the 2nd of February will culminate on 28th February and it will include ODI practice games and intense training-sessions which are aiamed in helping to help in the improvisation of the fitness levels & skills of the players. 

It's worth noting that Pakistan have been awarded the rights to host the T20 Women's World Cup of 2028 as a compensation for the failure of Team India to visit the nation in order to take part in the 2025 Champions Trophy event.
