Pakistan SQUAD for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 Announced | Babar Azam to lead Squad

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced Pakistan's Men's Cricket Team's squad for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup which will be captained by star batsman Babar Azam.
Experienced campaigners like Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan are a part of Shaheen's squad for this year's mega event, which starts from the first of June in the West Indies and United States of America.

The likes of Abrar Ahmed, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Abbas Afridi and Azam Khan will be featuring for the first time in a T20 World Cup while the duo of Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir will be featuring in their first T20 World Cup since 2016 and 2021.

It's worth mentioning that the PCB has not announced any reserve players in the squad and it's likely that the Men in Green will be traveling to the West Indies and the United States of America without any reserve players.

Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Azam Khan, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.

?The squad which we have chosen for the 2024 T20 World Cup is an extremely balanced and talented one which has a mixture of experienced and talented youngsters. This group of players have been playing Cricket together for a long time and look well settled and prepared for this year's mega event,? the Pakistan Cricket Board said in their press release.

?Fast bowler Haris Rauf has regained full fitness and is bowling well in the nets. It would have been better if he had got the opportunity to play in the first T20i against England at Headingley, Leeds but we are pretty confident that his performance and confidence will get a major boost in the upcoming three games against England, as he (Haris Rauf) will play an important role alongside other fast bowlers in the 2024 T20 World Cup,? the PCB added.

Pakistan is a part of Group A alongside arch-rivals India, Canada, and Ireland and co-hosts USA.
