The Indians have so far managed to win five medals at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024, and one of them includes Avani Lekhara?s historic gold medal. Avani became the first Indian female Paralympian to win two gold medals as she successfully defended her Tokyo Paralympics gold medal in the women?s 10-metre air-rifle standing SH-1 shooting. She also went on to create a new world-record for her outstanding performance.
Besides Lekhara, para shooter Mona Agarwal managed to win a bronze medal as well which meant India recorded a double-podium medal finish for the first time in a single tournament. Para Pistol Shooter Rubina Francis further increased the nation?s medal tally by securing a Bronze medal, while Manish Narwal won the silver medal in the same category as well, showcasing how exceptional the performance of India has been in shooting at the Paris Paralympics 2024.
