The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is one of the trending topics in the world of cricket. Amid all this, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has come under massive scanner, and various reports have claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) might move out of the tournament out of Pakistan.

This is because Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are yet to complete the renovations of the three stadiums, which will be hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Three venues in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi will be hosting the games in the tournament while India games will be played in Dubai.

The renovations for the stadiums were scheduled to be completed by the end of December after it started on 10th January. However, with tournaments just around the world, the renovations of the stadium are far away from being complete, and hence, they have come under pressure.

There were reports that the ICC has told The Pakistan Cricket Board that if the work on the stadium won't get completed by 12th February, then the entire tournament will be moved out of Pakistan. The reports claimed that ICC officials will be visiting Pakistan soon to monitor the progress and take the call.

However, a source close to the PCB has made a dominating statement to silence all the criticism. He highlighted that the Board has spent a lot of money and said that they will be completing the renovation work in time. He told PTI:

"The PCB has spent nearly PKR 12 billion to upgrade our stadiums to make them fitting for an event like the Champions Trophy, which was awarded to us,"

"We gave the statement because our media also started flashing such speculative news without checking the facts. This would have caused chaos and confusion amongst the PCB, ICC, government, commercial partners and fans affecting the ticketing and marketing of the event,"

In another news, IANS, a PCB source, stated that they will be completing the renovations by the first week of February and subtly took a dig at BCCI for tarnishing their image. He added:

"All the work (related to stadiums) will be done by the first week of February. Pakistan will successfully host the Champions Trophy. No need to go by any rumours.

"We are committed to giving our best. There are people who are trying to tarnish Pakistan’s image on social media. We know who all they are and why they are doing this."

The Champions Trophy will begin from 19th February in Karachi, and the final is all set to take place on 9th March.
