Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap in IPL 2022 - Updated List April 4: 11 Matches of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) have been successfully completed by the end of week one. The last night's fixture was between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Though Mayank Agarwal?s Punjab Kings (PBKS) convincingly managed to defeat Chennai Super Kings by 51 runs, the match seemed evenly poised until MS Dhoni was in the crease. He gave everyone a glimmer of hope that he can pull this chase off with his calm storm that he brings towards the backend of the innings.
Liam Livingstone had a memorable outing in the Brabourne Stadium. The right-handed batter scored his maiden half-century in the IPL, and also whacked a 108 meters gigantic six. To add icing to the cake, Livingstone scalped two big wickets to bring his day to rest on a happy note.
While Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered its second win in three matches of the Tata IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings will be still searching for their opening win. The defending champions have lost three matches on the trot and will be under immense pressure as they lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 9.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are at the top of the points table with two big wins in two matches. RR have a dominative net run rate of +2.100 with four points against their name. Shreyas Iyer?s KKR is at the second spot with two wins in three matches. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans are at three with two wins in two close matches followed by Punjab Kings (PBKS) who registered their second win last night.
In the last six places Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings find themselves respectively.

Orange Cap in IPL 2022:
Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan still holds the Orange Cap with 135 runs in two matches. Jos Buttler is at number two with equal runs as Ishan Kishan, however, Ishan's superior strike rate placed him over Buttler in the ranking table.
Chennai?s Shivam Dube has made long strides to arrive at third place in the Orange Cap race. Dube played a sensational knock of 56 runs against Punjab Kings, last night. In three games, Shivam Dube has managed to score 109 runs.
Punjab?s Liam Livingstone has also come into the picture following his match- knock of 60 runs against CSK. Livingstone has amassed 98 runs in three matches and sits at fourth place in the Orange Cap tally.
Andre Russell, Faf du Plessis and Shikhar Dhawan are at number five, six and seven respectively.

Purple Cap in IPL 2022:
No changes were witnessed as KKR pacer Umesh Yadav still holds the Orange Cap for picking up the most number of wickets. Yadav has scalped eight wickets in three IPL 2022 matches. Punjab Kings? Rahul Chahar has jumped to number two with six wickets in three matches.
Third, fourth and fifth places have been acquired by Rajasthan Royals Yuzvendra Chahal (5), Gujarat Titans Mohammad Shami (5) and KKR?s Tim Southee (5) respectively.
