WPL Latest Updated Points Table (16 March after RCB vs UPW): As fans watch enticing innings and bowling spells in the league, the race to the final and eliminator in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023's inaugural season is currently at its finest. The league has reached halfway through and Mumbai Indians are sitting at the top right from the start of the season.
The five teams will compete against each other twice in the round-robin tournament. There will be a total of 20 league games, or eight for each team. The team that finished first on the table subsequently moves on to the grand finals, while the teams that finished second and third engage in an eliminator to determine the second finalist.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were considered one the favorites before the tournament began as the franchise fought hard and collected the pure gem of the cricketing world and did their job perfectly on the auction table. But RCB under Smriti Mandhana came out as a total failure till now. After facing defeat from DC, RCB have lost all five matches out of the six they played till now. They won a match against UP Warriorz after 5 consecutive losses.
The exact opposite of RCB, Mumbai Indians led by Indian regular skipper Harmanpreet Kaur are standing top of the table with all 5 wins. Following Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals are 2nd in the table with 4 wins out of 5. Alessa Healey's UP Warriorz are doing good but not getting results in their favor.
MI is now the first team to officially qualify for the eliminator and DC is practically sure to play at least the Eliminator matches but who would be the third team to qualify for the eliminator is a question that we will find the answer to in a couple of days.
