IPL 2021: Predicting top 5 highest run-getters of Vivo IPL 2021.
IPL 2021: The fourteenth season of the Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL) was one of the much anticipated seasons of IPL history. All the fans and experts across the globe were eagerly waiting and wanted to distract their minds from the outside buzz.
The IPL 2021 began its operations on 9th April with defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) clashing with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening encounter.
The tournament sailed smoothly until the covid-19 entered the bio bubble and started affecting the cricketers. A couple of covid positive reports did not bother the BCCI much, however, the board came into action after players from more than one franchise got affected due to the virus.
The authorities wisely decided to stop the tournament for an indefinite time on May 4th.
Until now, 29 games of the Vivo IPL 2021 were held. During these 29 games, fans got to see a whole packed action from their favourite cricketers. From nail-biting finishes to low scoring thrillers, IPL gave it all.
In this article, we will predict the top 5 Cricketers who will score the most runs in the Vivo IPL 2021.
IPL 2021: Predicting top 5 highest run getters of Vivo IPL 2021:
5. Faf du Plessis (CSK):
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made a complete turnaround in the Vivo IPL 2021 after suffering a humiliating season last year and Faf du Plessis played his part in it. The South African cricketer opened the innings with young Ruturaj Gaikwad and ensured a brisk start for the franchise.
Du Plessis is also a consistent performer for CSK over the years. He performed in the previous season too, but hasn't got much support from the other end.
In the IPL 2021, both CSK openers Du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad are jamming on another level and are producing the best start possible.
In seven games, Du Plessis has amassed 320 runs for CSK at an average of 64.00. In his run, he has also scored four half centuries.

4. Mayank Agarwal (PBKS):
Although Punjab Kings (PBKS) have struggled in most aspects of the game, their opening has been one of the talking points. Ever Since KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal opened the innings for PBKS, the duo has ensured a good opening stand more often than not.
Mayank Agarwal plays the role of accelerator in PBKS and gives ample opportunity to KL Rahul to get settled down and take the innings deep.
He was successful in the previous edition, when the IPL was held in the UAE, and the fans will be hoping him to replicate the same.
Talking about his IPL 2020 stats, Agarwal scored 424 runs in 11 games for Punjab Kings (PBKS) at an average of 38.54. His spell in IPL 2020 also included two half-centuries and a century.
The cricketer also had a brilliant outing in the Vivo IPL 2021. In seven matches of the season, he collected 260 runs at an average of 43.33.
3. Prithvi Shaw:
The young Indian opener Prithvi Shaw started off IPL 2021 with a blast. After being criticised and mocked for his constant poor performances in international cricket, Shaw worked on his weak portions and came back with more guts and feathers in his hat.
The 21-years old cricketer made a couple of domestic records in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy before entering the IPL 2021. He along with Shikhar Dhawan did a commendable job in providing a perfect start to the team.
Shaw plundered 308 runs in eight IPL 2021 matches at an average of 38.50. He also smacked six consecutive fours in an over off Shivam Mavi to answer his critics.
With the given form he has, Prithvi Shaw is definitely going to have an explosive season in the UAE.
2. Shikhar Dhawan:
The Southpaw Shikhar Dhawan is having the form of his life right now. Many of the pundits' had criticised him for his slow strike rates in the T20 innings, however, his recent performances gave a befitting reply to all those who doubted.
Dhawan has improved his skills for the shortest format under Ricky Ponting and honed it a lot.
In the Vivo IPL 2021, Dhawan is way ahead of others in terms of runs scored and is the highest run-scorer till now. He has scored 380 runs in eight games for his team Delhi Capitals at an average of 54.28.
His IPL 2020, the southpaw was the second highest run getter, he scored 618 runs in 17 IPL games and took his side to the maiden IPL final.
Owing to his brilliant recent form, Dhawan has also got a chance to lead team India in the limited-overs format. He will lead the outfit in the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka.
1. KL Rahul (PBKS):
The Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper KL Rahul has performed out of the box in the last two IPL seasons. He has been a lone warrior and amassed most of the runs for his team.
The fact why Rahul?s strike rate has gone down is because he lacks a supporter from the other end at the death overs when the team needs a powerful hitter.
In the Vivo IPL 2021, Rahul stockpiled 331 runs in 7 games at an average of 66.20 while in IPL 2020 he was the leading run-getter with 670 runs in just 14 IPL games.
