Vivo IPL 2021: Pujara and Robin Uthappa begins training in Mumbai said, ?Good to be wearing yellow?
Vivo IPL 2021: After the national duties of the cricketers, now it is the time for India?s elite T20 competition which is scheduled to begin on 09th April. Not more than a fortnight is left and the players are joining their respective squads. However few players who were not part of India?s limited-overs leg have joined the squads in advance to get more training time.
Team India?s test stalwart and the hero of India vs Australia Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, Cheteshwar Pujara has joined his franchise in Mumbai and has begun sweating in the nets ahead of the tournament. Pujara was seen donning Chennai Super Kings jersey in the nets while practising.
Along with Pujara, former Rajasthan Royals cricketer Robin Uthappa and K Gowtham were also spotted. All three cricketers have been acquired by the franchise in the IPL 2021 Auctions.
"Realy happy, it's good to be out on the field," Pujara said in a video shared by the 3-time IPL champions. "It's good to be wearing yellow, really looking forward to my stint with CSK," he added.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) acquired Pujara for his base price of INR 50 Lakhs in the February Auctions. Pujara last time played IPL in 2014 and since then he is out of the competition. Robin Uthappa on the other hand was traded from Rajasthan Royals in an all-cash deal.
Sam Curran and Moeen Ali also join the squad:
English all-rounder Sam Curran and Moeen Ali have also joined the Chennai squad. Both the cricketers made the bubble-to-bubble transfer in order to cut the mandatory quarantine period. Curran and Ali both were part of England?s ODI squad and played a crucial part in the games.
Sam Curran finished the away season with a brilliant fightback against India in the last ODI. He scored unbeaten 83 balls 95 to keep the hopes alive for England. However, he fell short to cross the target in the 50 overs. He was awarded the Man of the Match award for his knock at the end.
