IPL 2022: GT vs RR Qualifier 1 Match Preview:

After a long one and a half months of a fierce battle between the ten sides of the Indian Premier League (IPL), we are finally reduced to four teams one of which will be crowned champions of the season fifteen of IPL in the coming few days.

It?s nothing short of a fairytale that out of four playoff teams, two franchises are playing their debut season in the tournament.

In qualifier 1 of the Tata IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans will be up against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium.

Gujarat finished atop the points table after their sublime performance in the league stage. GT sealed 10 out of 14 matches in the Tata IPL 2022. At the same time, Rajasthan Royals went over the rope on nine occasions in 14 outings in the tournament and is placed second in the points table.

Though GT looks formidable and favourites, on paper, to win the contest against Rajasthan Royals, these calculations will hold no value once the match begins and the team to perform better will emerge the winner.

For Gujarat, the major setback is injury concerns to their opener Wriddhiman Saha. The glovesman couldn?t don his gloves against CSK due to a tight hamstring.

Qualifier 1 - GT vs RR Pitch Report:

The pitch will be fresh and offer help to the seamers upfront. Usually Eden Garden produce a good contest between bat and ball. Rajasthan Royals don?t have a comforting stat in his venue as they have only managed to win twice out of nine matches.

The forecast is frustrating as thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and night. The chances of rain increase by 8 per cent at the night as compared to the day. In case no play is possible to schedule, a Super Over will decide the winner of the contest. While if even Super Over is also not possible to stage, the playoff standings will eventually decide the winner.
