RCB vs CSK: Bengaluru Latest Weather Forecast: Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to take on Ruturaj Gaikwad?s Chennai Super Kings in match number 68 of the 2024 Tata Indian Premier League. This game is going to be a do-or-die clash for both teams as the victorious team will qualify for the playoffs. If the match ends in a tie or if it gets washed out then Chennai Super Kings who have 14 points in 13 games will qualify for the playoffs.
The match against CSK is a home game for Faf Du Plessis and company and they would be hoping that fans turn up in large numbers at Bengaluru?s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The Bengaluru-based team is currently sitting at the seventh position on the points table with 12 points in 13 matches whereas CSK are at the fourth spot with 14 points next to their name. Bengaluru fans are praying for a full 20-over game as it will give their team the best possible shot of qualifying for the knockouts compared to a rain-affected fixture.
Qualification scenarios for both the teams:
- Chennai Super Kings just need a win to secure their spot for the playoffs. Even if the match ends up getting washed out due to rain, CSK will be the happier team as they have 14 points in 13 games in comparison to RCB?s 12.
- The qualification task is more difficult for the Bengaluru-based team as they need to win the match in 18.1 overs if they field first and if they bat first then Faf Du Plessis?s men will have to defeat CSK by 18 runs or more.
Bengaluru's Weather update: Rain threatens to intervene with the match.
There's some good news for RCB fans as the sky over the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is looking pretty clear. There are reports of constant rainfall in other parts of Bengaluru, but there's no rainfall in the central part of the city, where the Chinnaswamy Stadium is located.
Black clouds did form over the Chinnaswamy Stadium and as a precaution, the ground staff had opted to cover the pitch and the ground but the good news is that the pitch covers have been removed at the Chinnaswamy Stadium as the sun has started to peep out as the black clouds are likely to go away soon. The Sun peeping out means the prayers of the RCB supporters have been answered and they will get the opportunity to witness a full high-intensity rain clash between Chennai and Bengaluru.
