RCB vs DC IPL 2025: Delhi beat RCB by 6 wickets, won the match courtesy of KL Rahul's explosive innings
The Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) suffered their second home loss of the season as the Delhi Capitals (DC), captained by Axar Patel, easily defeated them. They also extended their winning streak to four games, keeping them as the only team undefeated this season! With six wickets and thirteen balls remaining, DC won thanks to a methodical and strategic chase that was masterfully guided by KL Rahul.
By the end of the Powerplay, Delhi was reeling at 39/3 after RCB's pacers came out firing, hitting one after the other to defend a below-average total. While wickets fell at the other end, primarily as a result of bad shot selection, KL Rahul remained steady and composed.Alongside Rahul, Axar Patel attempted to stabilize the innings but fell at a critical stage, momentarily shifting the tide back in the favor of the home side.
A master class in chase management followed. KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs used every scoring opportunity by forming an aggressive yet risk-free relationship. As the batting went on, Stubbs gained confidence while Rahul scored another outstanding half-century. Following 14 overs, a light drizzle appeared to be the impetus for acceleration, as the pair changed gears with ease. They destroyed the RCB bowling assault with measured intensity, making sure the task was completed as easily as possible.
In both innings, it was a tale of two halves for Bengaluru; they got off to a fast start but were unable to maintain the pressure when it counted most. While the remainder of the assault made a respectable effort, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most impressive player with the ball, taking two vital wickets. They needed something remarkable, though, because they only had 163 to defend, and it was insufficient against a well-run chase from Delhi.
With an electrifying start that left the opposition stunned, Phil Salt came out firing early in the game and tore into the Delhi Capitals' bowling attack. In less than four overs, RCB sped to 61 runs, laying the groundwork for an enormous total. A miscommunication in the middle, however, resulted in Salt's regrettable expulsion, which set off a precipitous collapse as RCB quickly faltered to 102/5.
Tim David came through with a vital late flourish just when things were hopeless, giving the innings impetus and leading RCB to a decent 163-run total. Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam shone out for the Delhi Capitals, taking two wickets apiece to hold RCB in check. It was a team effort with the ball.
