Sundar sustained a blow on his finger ahead of the India vs England test series. Multiple scans and medical reports revealed that the all-rounder has a fracture and will not be able to take part in any of the test matches.

The 21 years old cricketer was immediately ruled out and sent back to India. Sundar began his rehab and was expected to make a comeback in the IPL 2021 second half, however, the cricketer hasn't recuperated well to take part in the IPL.

"Royal Challengers Bangalore's all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2021 due to a finger injury. Akash Deep, a state cricketer from Bengal and net bowler with the franchise has been named as a replacement," RCB said in a release.

RCB acquired Sundar back in 2018 for a whopping INR 3.2 Crores.

Akash Deep, who has been a replacement, made his t20 debut in 2019 and the pacer has scalped 21 wickets in the format. He came into the limelight following his four wickets haul against Hyderabad in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which is also his best performance so far.
