Notably, the cricketer was left out of the Indian T20I and ODI sides for the upcoming Sri Lanka series. While the first impressions were that the glovesman has been dropped from the team due to his poor performances, later a few reports claimed that Rishabh is carrying some injury and had been rested.

The report added that Rishabh will head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore to nurse his niggle and spend at least 15 days there. He is expected to make a comeback in the New Zealand tour of India in 2023.
