Rishabh Pant Car Accident: Indian wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant has suffered a major car accident on Friday morning while he was returning to Uttarakhand from Delhi. His car crashed with the divider and caught fire near Hammadpur Jhal on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.
Pant, who was reportedly driving a Mercedes car, collided with a divider and his car caught fire. The wicketkeeper batter had to brake the car's windscreen to get out of the burning car.
As per NDTV, Rishabh Pant was alone in his car as he was returning to Uttarakhand from Delhi. He has suffered head, shin and knee injuries in the accident. The left-handed batter was transferred to Max Hospital in Dehradun after receiving primary treatment in Roorkee.
Director General of Uttarakhand Police, Ashok Kumar said: "Rishabh Pant broke the windscreen to get out of the burning car. As a result of the collision, he has head, knee, and shin injuries. He has been transferred to the Max Hospital in Dehradun since his leg may have fractured."
Notably, the cricketer was left out of the Indian T20I and ODI sides for the upcoming Sri Lanka series. While the first impressions were that the glovesman has been dropped from the team due to his poor performances, later a few reports claimed that Rishabh is carrying some injury and had been rested.
The report added that Rishabh will head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore to nurse his niggle and spend at least 15 days there. He is expected to make a comeback in the New Zealand tour of India in 2023.
