?Failures are meant to be, but it is your comeback that makes you a champion."?
Rishabh Pant, the swashbuckling Indian batter, who met with an unfortunate accident two weeks prior has issued his first statement to the media post-surgery. The accident had caused injury to his forehead, and his back and he had bruises on his knees too. If reports are to be believed, Rishabh Pant is expected to miss a lot of crickets in 2023, even the 2023 ODI World Cup. In this Twitter thread, he has addressed many facts and has also expressed how grateful he is for all the love that he has received during his time of test. Here is a look at the entire Twitter thread:?
Rishabh Pant Tweet Thanking his Rescuer:
When Rishabh met with an accident it was believed that the reason for the same was that he fell asleep at the wheel. But it was the quick actions post the accident that helped Rishabh to be where he is today. The two people who came to help him were Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar. Both of them were locals of the place where Rishabh?s unfortunate incident occurred. This is what Rishabh had to say, ?I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar, Thank you. I'll be forever grateful and indebted.??
Rishabh Pant Tweet Thanking the Fans:
The initial two tweets by Rishabh Pant were about giving updates on his health. The major update was the information that his surgery was successful and he is on the way to recovery. The next tweet was to thank the fans and his cricketing colleagues who showed love and support during his time in the test. ?
Pant?s Presence was Required in the 2023 ODI World Cup:
Players like Rishabh Pant do not often rise, they are a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of thing. These are match-winners. These are players who can frighten the opposition by mere presence. To name a few who belong to the same category, we have Kieron Pollard, Yusuf Pathan, Yuvraj Singh, and Carlos Braithwaite. ?
Hence, Pant was a much-needed component in the ODI World Cup 2023 squad. India has found it difficult to crack the crunch games. It has always been the finals or the semi-finals where we have failed. Because these games are generally not about team spirit but about that one performer who wins the game for you. Pant could have been that guy. But now the team will have to look for an equally competent player. But that seems next to impossible as each player has their flair.?
