Rishabh Pant to continue leading Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals (DC), the topper of IPL 2021 phase one, don?t want to tinker with the captaincy of the team and confirms that Rishabh Pant will continue to lead the side in phase 2 as well. The confirmation came days after regular skipper Shreyas Iyer was adjudged fit for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
?Shreyas Iyer is already in UAE with a fitness coach. The captain issue is still undecided, either it will be Pant or Iyer, the team management has not yet decided on this,? an official told ANI.
According to the report of Cricbuzz, the management is keen on backing Rishabh Pant for at least this remaining season. Initially, the officials were in splits over the captaincy dilemma, however, later decided to retain Pant as the skipper. To support the decision, the officials said that Iyer has recently recovered from the shoulder injury and hasn?t played any competitive cricket since his injury.
Cricbuzz?s reports revealed that the co-owners of the franchise Kiran Kumar Granthi and Parth Jindal are assured to back Rishabh Pant as a leader of the side. However, the official decision on the captaincy issue will be revealed once all the players and members of the team regroups in the UAE.

Shreyas Iyer sweating hard to get back to the groove:
In the meantime, Iyer is gearing up for a solid IPL season following a comprehensive recovery from his shoulder injury. The dashing cricketer is consistently seen sweating out in the nets and at training grounds.
?I am feeling on top of the world, to be honest. This was the thing I was eagerly waiting for. It?s never a bad feeling to be among the team. I came six days prior to the start of the practice sessions for the team, and I had two good games against the UAE team, so I just want to continue with the same momentum,? Shreyas Iyer said in a Delhi Capitals press release.
?I was sitting in front of the TV, watching each and every game and feeling as if I am on the ground and trying to replicate the scenario at my place. But, it?s in the past now, I have to forget about it and continue with the same flow, the team has maintained throughout,? Iyer said.
