Road Safety World Series: Indian Legends vs Bangladesh on March 5.
Road Safety World Series: The Indian Legends will take on Bangladesh in the opener of the Road Safety World Series on March 05. While the England team will also take on Bangladesh on March 07 as this will be the first game of England. India will take on England counterparts on March 09. The semi-final of the Road Safety World Series is scheduled to take place on 17th and 19th March while the final will be held on 21st March.
All the former and veteran cricketers will come under a roof to spread awareness about Road Safety in the country. India being the host will play the opener of the series. A series with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Brian Lara, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Muttiah Muralitharan, and many others will bring joy in the face of their fans.
England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa and India will be the countries that will be taking part in the awareness series.
All the games of the Road Safety World Series will be held at the newly build Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur. The ground has a capacity to include 65,000 fans and 50 per-cent crowd will be allowed to witness the game. The SOP for the same will be released soon by the authorities.
Australian Legends were also part of the series initially but they pulled back last week due to the restrictions posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In India Cricket is followed more or less like a religion and the cricketers are looked upon by their fans. This will be a good means to influence peoples behaviour on Indian roads.
The Road Safety World Series is an initiative by the Road Safety Cell of Maharashtra in association with the Professional Management Group (PMG) led by Sunil Gavaskar as the Commissioner of the Series and Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador of the league.
The series was called off on March 11, 2020 just after the four games as the Country went into serious Covid-19 lockdown.
