ICC WTC Final: Rohit Sharma reckon keeping things simple and realistic against kiwi bowling attack will help.

ICC WTC Final: Senior Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma ahead of the ICC World Test Championship game feels keeping things ?simple and realistic? against the New Zealand bowling attack will help the Indian players against them.

The ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand, which would have completed its first session till now, has been hit hard by the heavy downpour in Southampton and the first complete session has been called off. As of now, the toss has been delayed due to a wet outfield.

Sharma, who will be playing his first test game in England as an opener, has his own ways to tackle down the kiwi pace attack and seemed quite confident about that.

?I have played those guys before and know about their weaknesses and strengths. It will all come down to what conditions are here in Southampton, what sort of situation the team is in, whether we are batting first or second,? Rohit Sharma to the broadcasters of the Star Sports.

?All that will count and it?s important not to overthink. Against the quality side, it?s equally important to keep things simple, and realistic,? said Sharma.

India?s white ball deputy has scored over 1000 runs in the ICC WTC over the last two years and is raring to be on the field.

He further said that Test matches challenge cricketers for all five days of play. 

?You are challenged for the whole five days of play, which do not happen anywhere else. Every day brings up a new bunch of challenges, a longer game needs patience, you play in different conditions and it?s definitely not the easiest,? said Sharma.

?You have to be mentally fresh for five days to make good decisions on the field. Physically you need to be fit and accept and overcome those challenges,? the cricketer concluded.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was also seen helping Rohit Sharma to get accustomed to the conditions here in England. Kohli mastered the art of resistance in English conditions and scored runs back in the 2018 tour where he plundered 593 in five test matches.

The skipper passed on some valuable tips to counter the swinging deliveries against the Kiwi pace attack to Rohit Sharma and was seen giving some throwdown to him.
