Rohit Sharma suffers thumb injury, Deepak Chahar walks off the field during INDvBAN 2nd ODI: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has encountered another injury scare as he was rushed to hospital following a thumb injury during the ongoing second ODI match between India and Bangladesh at Mirpur on Wednesday.?

Following the incident, which occurred in the second over of Bangladesh?s innings, Rohit was taken to the hospital for further scans on his left hand. The medical team of the BCCI attended the veteran cricketer and the board soon issued a statement, which said:

?Update: India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans.?

The incident happened while Rohit was standing on the second slip and attempted to take a catch, which eventually dropped off Rohit?s hands. Bangladesh?s opener Anamul Haque edged the delivery from Mohammad Siraj in the second over of the innings which resulted in a dropped catch as well as an injury to the Indian skipper.

Sharma walked off the field immediately after his left hand was injured and was taken for scans in the Dhaka Hospital. 

The Indian cricketer didn?t return to attend his side?s fielding throughout the innings. Also, he didn?t partner Shikhar Dhawan instead Virat Kohli was promoted to open the Indian innings.

Meanwhile, in another injury blow, pacer Deepak Chahar walked off the field with a stiff hamstring following his initial three-over spell. He too didn?t return to bowl his quota of the remaining seven overs throughout the innings.

So far no statement has been issued by the Indian cricket board regarding Deepak Chahar?s injury.?
