Rohit Sharma?s services will be missed in the South Africa test series: Zaheer Khan.
SAvsIND: Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan reckons team India will definitely miss veteran opener Rohit Sharma?s presence in the squad for the Test series against South Africa. Team India will begin its tour of South Africa with the three matches test series on 26th December in SuperSport Park Centurian.?
It is important to note that the Indian side has conquered every major cricket playing nation in the world barring South Africa. The Indian side is ye to seize history against the Protea in the test series in their own backyard.
The visitors will have several challenges to face, including the absence of a few big players. Senior opener Rohit Sharma is out of the test series owing to a hamstring injury. Shubman Gill is also ruled out due to his shin injury. Premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is unavailable because of his fracture.
Former left-arm speedster, Zaheer Khan, though says that team India will miss Rohit Sharma?s services, but further reckons that there are several players in the team who can take up the opportunity and prove valuable.
?The quality of Rohit Sharma you are always going to miss. There is no doubt about it. But if you look at the squad, there are a number of good options to open for India. You need to wait and see which direction the team goes in. There are consistent performers in the team and the bench strength is also looking very good. It is a good headache to have for the team management,? Zaheer was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

Zaheer Khan backed India to win maiden test series:
Khan has backed team India to lift its maiden test series win in South Africa. Despite being one of the strongest test sides in the world, India has never won a test series in the Rainbow nation.
"It all boils down to the planning and the consistent cricket this team has been playing. They have to just keep things simple. They need to continue what they have been doing. They have been successful in various conditions and the best part is that the bowling unit has been consistently doing well,? added Zaheer Khan.
The former pacer further added that the Indian bowlers, especially, will enjoy the conditions on offer in South Africa. The soil produces perfect bowling conditions and might be a little harsh for the batsman.
?India will definitely relish the South African conditions and the bowlers will enjoy bowling in those conditions. As a batting unit you need to put up a lot of runs on the board which is a basic requirement, but to win a Test match you need to take 20 wickets. The way Indian bowlers have been bowling, they will be able to do that. I am sure this Indian team will win their maiden series in South Africa,? he added.
