SA vs AUS 2nd ODI: With the win in the first ODI, Pakistan are all set to take on the hosts South Africa in the Second ODI at Newlands, Capetown. The match is scheduled to be played on December 19 at 5:30 PM IST.

In this post, we are set to cover the Probable playing 11s and fantasy team for the match. In order to be closely accurate, we need to follow up on the form and stats from the first ODI. Let's take a quick look at the summary of SA vs PAK 1st ODI:

SA vs PAK 1st ODI Summary

The first ODI between SA and PAK was a close one. Pakistan came up with a brilliant bowling performance but top-order failure in batting put them in line to lose the match. Agha Salman, however, came to rescue in the batting and he also did an excellent job in the bowling before as well.

Winning the toss, South Africa opted to bat first. Pakistan delivered an impressive bowling display, building on their success in Australia by adapting their approach. Agha Salman, unexpectedly effective, triggered a collapse after a strong 70-run opening by South Africa, reducing them to 88/4.

Markram and Klaasen added 73, but Saim broke the partnership. Klaasen, nearing a century, fell to Afridi’s superb late inswinger. Rabada and Baartman’s 21-run stand was vital, yet South Africa fell short of a par score on a spinner-friendly pitch.

Pakistan had to chase 240 but South Africa were excellent with the new ball. Salman Agha's calmness led Pakistan to a thrilling win in a closely contested match. Despite losing four early wickets for 60, a 141-run partnership between Agha and Ayub steadied the innings before Rabada's double-wicket over added tension.

Ayub’s century ended in Rabada’s spell, but Naseem stayed resilient, supporting Agha to the finish. South Africa bowled well but paid for falling short with the bat. Pakistan clinched a thrilling 3-wicket victory in the final over, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

FANTASY Tips for SA vs PAK 2nd ODI

Must Picks- We should consider the players who are in great touch even if they didn't get wickets or scored less. From Pakistan, Saim Ayub, Agha Salman and Babar Azam are the players who looked in good touch. Shaheen and Naseem Shah would also be good options as the Newlands pitches offer more bounce and pace. From South Africa, Zorzi, Markram, and Rabada were excellent so they should be featuring your fantasy 11 in Grand League.

May Avoid- When we are talking about fantasy games, you need luck on your side as well. So choosing players to avoid becomes too risky in the ODI format. Still, considering the 1st ODI, you may avoid Irfan Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, and van der Dussen. However, all these are class players and they can be top-point collectors on their day but they didn't look in the best of their form.

Newlands, Capetown Pitch Report

The surface at the Newlands Cricket Ground tends to carry more pace and bounce than Paarl’s Boland Park. However, one can expect even bounce, unlike the uneven nature of the Wanderers' surface. The sunny weather at the venue will likely dry up the track to make it a batting-friendly one, especially during the first half.
