Salaries of all the International Cricket Captains in 2021 Revealed.

To be a leader of the side is not an easy job to take. The captain is the most vital cog in the team and around whom the team is made. Skippers have added responsibilities to glue up the members of the squad on the field as well as off the field.

They have to take care of their every action and have to take calculated risks that must be in the favour of the team. Skipper is the person who is confronted at first when the team loses or wins. There are times when the captains have to go through various hardships due to the poor performances of the team.

All the players in the cricket team are handed a central contract annually which also specifies their salary for the year. Although, the salaries of the skippers depend a lot on their respective cricket boards. Mostly it is seen that there are no special perks given to the skipper of the side however there are teams that give the additional sum to the skipper with that added authority.

Here in this article, we will discuss one by one the salaries of all the international skipper or captains in 2021 (Calculated in INR).

Sri Lanka Cricket is surely not having their best of the times in the last few years. The team doesn't have a settled playing11 due to which the coordination of the team always tends to get loose.

Apart from this, Sri Lanka Cricket is lacking a good leader who can spearhead the team for a long time. In the last four years, SLC has changed nine ODI captains, that?s huge. They have lost multiple series on the Trott due to which their rankings in the ICC tables have gone too low.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) uses split captaincy, Dimuth Karunaratne is their Test skipper while Kausal Parera is the limited-overs skipper. The former gets an annual salary of USD 70,000 while the latter gets USD 35,000.

#07. Pakistan: Babar Azam ? INR 62.40 lakh

Kieron Pollard was given the roles to lead the white ball team while Kraigg Brathwaite was appointed the leader of the Test side.

There were several pay disputes inside the West Indies cricket board due to which many players opted to feature in the T20 league rather than represent their nation. However, the change in the management in 2019 has brought everything in place and there seems to be a nice and ordered system.

The likes of Kieron Pollard receives $250,000 (?1.73 crores) for his white-ball roles while Kraigg Brathwaite gets around $200,000 (? 1.39 crores) as his central contract.

He took his team to the final of ICC ODI World Cup 2019 and will be leading New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2021.

As per the central contract of Kane Williamson from New Zealand Cricket (NZC), he receives $440,000 a year. New Zealand also believes in giving some special bonuses to the skippers and due to which Williamson receives an extra $40,000 which is included in the total contract of $440,000.

South Africa went through a pale patch and changed the captains. Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock were handed over the captaincy however a year later the board decided to once again change the roles.

Later, Temba Bavuma was announced the skipper of the limited-overs side while Dean Elger was announced as the test skipper. As part of their central contracts, Temba Bavuma fetches $350,000 while Dean Elgar gets $450,000.

There is a bit of a dip in the success graph of Australian cricket, however, they are still the best in the business. Aaron Finch leads the limited-overs side while the reins of the Test side is with Tim Paine.

Both the skippers get equal pay according to the Cricket Australia central contracts. Tim Paine and Aaron Finch both fetch $1 Million yearly from CA.
