Sourav Ganguly may lose his BCCI President post, Roger Binny in line to succeed Ganguly: Current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly is reported to lose his coveted post going forward as he is supposedly replaced by 1983 World Cup winner Roger Binny. The rumours triggered as Roger Binny?s name appeared in the BCCI?s Draft Electoral Rolls.
Notably, fresh BCCI elections to elect the members for the coveted post of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Joint-secretary are being held on 18th October. The nominations for the said posts must be filled on October 11 and 12.
Roger Binny, who has been a part of India?s maiden World Cup triumph in 1983, is currently serving as the President of the Karnataka Cricket Association (KCA). His name appeared in the list of individuals who will be attending the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on behalf of the KCA.
"Earlier, KSCA's Santosh Menon would represent the KSCA in the BCCI AGM. But Binny will represent Karnataka unit this time, while Sourav Ganguly will represent the Cricket Association of Bengal," stated a report in Sportstar.
It has been learnt that an extended and crucial meeting between the current administrators of the BCCI and a few former office bearers was held on Thursday to decide the next office bearers of the world?s richest cricket board.

"Right now, things are a bit fluid. A top cabinet minister, whose word everyone respects, will have the final say in this matter,? said a top BCCI official.
While legendary pacer Roger Binny will represent KCA, subsequently Sourav Ganguly will represent Bengal Cricket Association (BCA), Jay Shah will be present on behalf of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) and Arun Dhumal will stand for Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA).
Further, it has been whispered that although Ganguly may lose his post as BCCI?s president, he is likely to be India?s representative for the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman?s post. Meanwhile, Jay Shah is likely to secure his charge as BCCI secretary.
