South Africa’s elite fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has displaced India’s Jasprit Bumrah to become the new number 1 ranked Test-Bowler as per the recently updated ICC Men’s Test-Player Rankings. Overtaking the Indian pacer, the 29-year-old now sits comfortably at the top of the rankings after wrecking havoc with the ball versus Bangladesh.

It’s a really bright-time for Kagiso to shine for his country, especially since his performances will play an important role in helping South Africa qualify for their first ever WTC Final. The 29-year-old recently completed the achievement of picking up 300 Test Wickets versus the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh in the 1st Test-Match at the Cricket Stadium of Dhaka.

Kagiso Rabada Returns To The Number 1 Spot After a span of Five-Years

Rabada managed to pick up nine-scalps in the match versus the Tigers which helped him to make a jump of three spots and he managed to surpass Bumrah, Ashwin and Josh Hazelwood to make his comeback as the world’s number one Test-ranked bowler for the first time since 2019.

Notably, the South African seamer held the position back in January of 2018 and he has been sitting inside the top 10 ranks on a regular basis after he was dethroned from the first rank in February of 2019.

The South African pacer sits at the top of the rankings with 860 ranking-points next to his name and he’s followed by Australian pacer Josh Hazelwood (847 ranking-points) at the second-position, Jasprit Bumrah (846 points) and Ravi Ashwin at the fourth place with 831 ranking-points. Aussie captain Pat Cummins rounds up the top 5 of the Test Bowling Rankings.
