Sri Lanka vs England, 1st Test: The first match of the three-match Test series of the Sri Lanka tour of England, 2024 is being played at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. Sri Lanka captain Dhananjaya de Silva won the toss and decided to bat first, batting first, the visiting team was all out for 236 runs in 74 overs.

Sri Lankan top-order batsmen disappointed everyone with their performance in the first innings, Sri Lanka lost six wickets at a score of just 92 runs. Captain Dhananjaya de Silva played a captaincy innings and handled the team, he scored 74 runs in just 84 balls with the help of eight fours, while Milan Priyanath Rathnayake, playing his first match, won everyone's heart with his performance. Priyanath Rathnayake played an innings of 72 runs in 135 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes.
