With several quality sides participating in this massive event, the tournament is surely going to be a highly entertaining one for fans from all around the globe.

Amidst several teams which shall be participating in the tournament starting from mid-October, the eyes will surely be on the team which won the inaugural World T20 trophy back in 2007. Numerous experts and analysts have started to place forth their opinions on the Indian team, its current form and their chances to achieve invincible during the upcoming tournament.?

One of these experts who has expressed his views on the Indian team and its squad as a whole is India's former pace bowler, Ashish Nehra. Nehra's squad had several good quality players whose combination is seemingly good for the Indian team at the moment. On the other hand, a few prominent players have also missed out on the squad picked by Ashish Nehra.

Let us take a look at his team first.

Ashish Nehra?s 15-man India Squad for T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Hooda.

India is coming off after a disastrous outcome in the Asia Cup 2022 wherein the men in blue couldn't even make it through to the finals and were eliminated in the super 4 stages itself. With the World T20 all set to commence in a short period of time from now on, it's high time for team India to begin its preparations for the big event hereon.

The team will need to learn from its mistakes and thus make use of the best possible combinations of players who could help the team achieve its objectives during the World T20 in Australia.

Ashish Nehra's squad comprises of Rohit Sharma as the skipper who shall be opening the batting with KL Rahul. Virat Kohli much to everyone's liking will be batting at no.3. Suryakumar Yadav who has been showcasing incredible big-hitting abilities over the last several months too finds a place in the squad.

Ashish Nehra has showed his trust on KL Rahul despite his current poor form

Shreyash Iyer who had amassed runs at a magnificent rate for India in T20Is early on in 2022 was nowhere to be found in the squad. The middle order shall be consisting of Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik to support the batting midway between the innings or towards the death overs.

However, a major part of the squad as always according to Nehra shall be Hardik Pandya who will be providing major contributions both with the bat and the ball. Deepak Hooda who showed fantastic abilities with the bat after making his debut for India in the T20Is this year was included by Nehra in his squad. The team didn't have the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, each of whom was injured during the Asia Cup.

The fact that both of these pacers have regained their fitness and have also been included in Nehra's XI will be the thing to smile about for the Indian fans. Another major blow which India had to suffer was in form of Ravindra Jadeja who also sustained an injury midway between in the Asia Cup. The all-rounder has to undergo surgery and the team hasn't yet taken a call on his availability for the World Cup.

Ashish Nehra picked Chahal and Ashwin in the squad too. The reason for their inclusion in the side according to him was that Ashwin alongside Chahal can surely make an impact on several occasions if he's included in the XI. Moreover, Jadeja's injury recently makes it even more important for India to have two proper spinning options in the side for the world cup.

Ashish Nehra thinks Ravichandran Ashwin will be an important player for India in T20 World Cup 2022

The four pacers that Nehra then named in his squad were Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh. The fact that Shami was being seen as more of a test match bowler by the management made Nehra exclude him from his T20I squad as per his own sayings. Deepak Chahar who didn't have much game time this year for India in the shortest format of the game too wasn't included by Nehra in his Asia Cup squad.
