Devon Conway | Player of the Match:

"The boys gave a special performance tonight. Finn deserves praise for how he got things going for us and for setting the tone. Everyone else put in a respectable performance. Finn is a young player in international cricket, but he's really explosive and fearless. It (Finn's knock) was pretty unique, and I have seen him do it time and time again. Finn's style of play suits mine, so I can just bat around him. The playing surface was excellent, and I believed that if you timed the ball, you would have greater success. Being able to defeat Australia on any occasion is significant to us, especially here at the SCG. We will carry this energy into the upcoming match."

Aaron Finch | Losing captain:

They undoubtedly did (on the New Zealand starters), and we weren't able to recover after they established the tone in the opening four overs. We required a strong start, but it didn't come, and we were well outplayed. He got off to a fast start (on Finn), we needed early wickets, which didn't happen, and when we chased, we lost too many wickets, which made us insufficient with the net run rate suffering. We have four games remaining before we play Sri Lanka, so we need to win them all and hope for good fortune.

Kane Williamson | Winning captain:

The openers set the tone, there were many contributions throughout the batting order, and that was a very respectable score on this surface. It was one of those days, an excellent day. The bowlers then performed admirably and had strong field support. Everyone on our team is aware of their responsibilities, we took the game to the limit and were quite methodical in our approach. We also were aware of the calibre of Australia's bowling.
