Veteran bowlers Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner were the chief architects of New Zealand?s win as they scalped three wickets apiece.

In the second encounter on 22nd October, England defeated Afghanistan by 5 wickets at the Perth Stadium to bring up their first victory of the ICC Men?s T20 World Cup 2022. After restricting Afghan players to a below-par score of 112 runs, England batters chased down the total with not many difficulties and bagged two crucial points. 

For England, all-rounder Sam Curran became the pick of the bowlers as he registered his fifer against Afghanistan.
