T20 World Cup 2024 Points Table Updated [11-June] after RSA vs BAN | South Africa Qualified for Super 8

T20 World Cup 2024: South Africa and Bangladesh squared off in the twenty-first T20 World Cup 2024 match at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. South Africa made history by defeating the Bangla Tigers in this exciting match. In T20 World Cup history, a team has never successfully defended a target of 113 runs. The Proteas team became the first team to qualify for the T20 World Cup Super-8 with this victory.
South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bat first. While batting, the African team could score only 113 runs in 20 overs. Heinrich Klaasen scored the most runs from Proteas. He played an innings of 46 runs with the help of three sixes and two fours in 44 balls. David Miller played a controlled innings of 29 runs in 38 balls.
Chasing a small target of 114 runs, Bangladesh team could score only 109 runs in 20 overs. Towhid Hridoy scored the most runs from Bangladesh, he scored 37 runs in 34 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. This is Bangladesh's first defeat in the tournament, in the first match Bangla Tigers won against Sri Lanka.
South Africa Qualified for Super 8
After South Africa's thrilling win in the South Africa vs Bangladesh match played in Group-D, Proteas have become the first team to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024. Spinner Keshav Maharaj gave South Africa the win by defending 11 runs in the last over, he took three wickets for just 27 runs in his 4-over spell.
