Former Indian cricketer and current Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Mohammad Azharuddin has been removed from the decorated position of president following the alleged violations of the rules and regulations.



Moreover, a show-cause notice has been issued to the former cricketer and will remain suspended till the course of the inquiries and allegations.



?After considering the complaints made by the members against you (Azharuddin), it was decided at the Apex Council meeting on the 10th of this month to issue a show-cause notice on the ground that you have acted in violation of the rules. The Apex Council is suspending you and your membership of HCA is being terminated until completion of the inquiry on these complaints," the showcase notice said.

The notice stated that the action against him will be taken if he fails to provide any proper explanations within a week of receiving the show-cause notice.



As per the reports, Azharuddin was secretly associated with a private cricket club based in Dubai. The club participates in the events that is not recognised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and which is against all its rules and regulations.



Azharuddin was elected as the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) in 2019.

BCCI to donate 10 Crores to support Indian athletes in the Tokyo Olympics.



BCCI secretary Jay Shah post the Apex Council Meet on 20th June revealed that the Indian cricket board will help and donate INR 10 Crores to support the Indian athletes in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.



The 2021 Tokyo Olympics are slated to begin from 23rd July to 8th August.



The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held a virtual Apex Council Meeting on Sunday and the decision to provide financial assistance was taken along with a couple of other key decisions.?



Jay Shah further revealed that the board had earlier received a request from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) seeking their help.



?The Summer Olympics is scheduled to be held in Tokyo from 23 July to 8th August 2021. The BCCI has decided to support Indian athletes in every form and manner it can. In that spirit, based on the request received from the IOA/MYAS, the Apex Council of BCCI has decided to extend support to the Indian Olympic Association and has pledged a monetary gesture of Rs. 10 crores,? Shah said in its statement.



<h2>BCCI to compensate the domestic Cricketers:</h2>



The Apex Council has also decided to form a separate committee to take all the necessary action on the compensation of the domestic players who have suffered a lot during this pandemic.



The BCCI could not manage to schedule a whole domestic season due to the restrictions posed by the pandemic last year.

Moreover, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has earlier assured the domestic cricketers about the compensation and support.



?The Apex Council has decided to form a committee to look into the issue of compensation for Indian domestic cricketers for domestic season 2020 and 2021. The Apex Council has mandated the Office-Bearers of BCCI to form the committee and find a suitable compensatory mechanism for domestic cricketers, at the earliest possible,? the statement further read.



<h2>BCCI to initial tax exemption talks with ICC:</h2>



Apart from these two major decisions, the Apex Council Meeting officials also focused on the tax exemptions from the ICC.



As per the rules, any country hosting ICC events needs to get tax exemptions from their governments, however, the BCCI has consistently failed to bring the Indian government to the same page.



As a result, the BCCI had to pay a huge sum during the ICC 2016 T20 World Cup. The global body deducted money from the revenue earned by the BCCI from stating the event in the country.



?In the meeting, it was apprised that ICC has to decide whether they want to conclude with the old rule which states that the country hosting the World Cup will have to get tax exemption. Every time BCCI faces this issue and the ICC will have to bear this cost, and not the board. Otherwise, BCCI is fine with not hosting any world event,? an Apex Council member said.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah will reach out to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to organise two warm-up games for team India before both England and India advance further for the Test series, starting August 4.



It is learnt that the BCCI officials have already spoken to the Indian management and believe that those few tune-in games will be necessary to compete against high-quality English test teams in English summer conditions.



?Jay (Shah) will be speaking to ECB and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tom Harrison to make an arrangement for two warm-up games before the five Test match series,? BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal told this newspaper.



?The secretary felt that the BCCI should request the ECB to give at least two warm-up games so that players can get in some good match practice before the series starts.?

Post the defeat against the kiwis, the Indian outfits are given at least three weeks rest to have quality time in the United Kingdom. The contingent will regroup after three weeks as they will train to take on England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on August 4.



The fans will be back at the venues during the India-England test series, said ECB chief.

The wait of cricket fans all across the globe could end in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as the global cricket body, International Cricket Council (ICC), is working keenly to have set a working group to induct cricket in the Olympic games. The ICC has confirmed the development and has all the intentions to push the sport forward.



It is worth noting that cricket was a part of the Olympics back in 1900 when France played against Great Britain, however, the sport could not lead a healthy foundation to make it a permanent sport at the Olympics.

The Indian cricket board is soon expected to get richer following the induction of the two new franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The experts foresee BCCI to fetch gains of around INR 5000 Crores as soon as the new franchises get finalised.



The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have made its mind to make the elite Indian T20 League a ten teams affair by adding two new teams to the existing pool of eight. The modalities and bidding process were chalked out by the officials in the latest governing council meeting.



?Any company can buy the bid document paying ?75 crores. Earlier top brass was thinking about keeping the base price for two new teams at ?1700 crore but later it was decided to keep the base price at ?2000 crore,? a senior BCCI source told PTI on the condition of anonymity.



The person who has dealt with the financial side of IPL in the past has revealed that the Indian cricket board has clear odds to get at least 5,000 Crores gains if the bids go as per the plans chalked out in the GC meeting.



?The BCCI is expecting anything in the range of 5000 crores if not more. There will be 74 IPL games next season and it?s a win-win situation for everyone.?

It is also learnt that the board has opted to allow only certain companies to bid whose annual turnover exceeds INR 3000 crores.



With several conglomerates actively looking to acquire a new franchise in the IPL, the BCCI is presuming the bidding process to be more interesting. Furthermore, the plans of allowing consortiums to bid for a franchise will make the process more vibrant.



?I think more than three business entities won?t be allowed to form a consortium but if three business come together and wants to jointly bid for a team, they are welcome to do so,? he said.



As of now, no sureshot indications have been shown up whether which two Indian stadiums will get the new IPL teams, but Ahmedabad?s Narendra Modi Stadium along with Lucknow?s Ekana Stadium are the favourites.



The big corporate entities such as Adani group, RPG Sanjeev Goenka group, noted pharma company Torrent have shown their active interest in owning a franchise.

ENGvsIND: England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reportedly approached the global cricket body to resolve the dispute following the call off of the fifth test match at Manchester between India and England. The Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) of the ICC is now on action to deduce the outcome of the final test match.



The covid 19 outbreak in the Indian camp gave jitters to the visitors and the cricketers showed their apprehensions to the ECB and the BCCI on playing. As many as five support staff of Indian management returned positive for the dreaded covid virus which led to players show their reluctance to play the match.



As ECB has already written to the ICC, the cricket board will press its case for the forfeiture of the final test match by the Indians which would help them to claim the insurance of the losses incurred and also gain the much-needed points to level the series.&nbsp;



Meanwhile, the Indian players and cricket board has repeatedly stated that the team hasn?t forfeited the test match.



Both the participating cricket boards have agreed to re-schedule the test match next year. Tom Harrison, ECB CEO has, however, stated that the match will be played stand-alone and will not be part of the test series.

"Look, the one-off Test that BCCI has proposed will be standalone as Tom Harrison has said. Which means that it is not a part of this series. Therefore, if ICC decides that Indian cricket team which twice tested negative in RT-PCR was 'unable to field' the team due to Covid-19, then it will be acceptable non-compliance," a source in the know of things said.



However, if the verdict goes in India?s favour, ECB will have to bear all the losses of GBP 40 Million and no compensation will be given to the cricket board.



ECB will have fair grounds to claim compensation if it proves the case of forfeiture and the series will be adjudicated 2-2.



In the meantime, the IPL franchises have decided to bring their respective players to the UAE via charter flights.



Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav have already landed in the UAE while CSK and RCB players are soon expected to reach the destination.

Earlier in the day, the Times of India reported that India?s all-format skipper Virat Kohli will step down from T20I captaincy and his deputy Rohit Sharma will be subsequently pick up the leader's of the side. The report further claimed that Virat himself will come up and announce the development after the World Cup.



However, Dhumal has rubbished all such false claims. He said the BCCI is happy to go with Virat Kohli as the leader of all three formats.



"This is all rubbish. Nothing (as) such is happening. This is all what you guys (media) are talking about. BCCI has not met or discussed anything on this issue (split captaincy)," Dhumal told IANS. "Virat will remain as the captain (of all formats),? stated Arun Dhumal, BCCI treasurer.

IPL 2022 new franchises bidding likely to be held on October 17.



For a long time now there has been talks around the addition of the two new franchise from the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Indian cricket board has already confirmed the induction of two new teams from the next season and as per the reports of Cricbuzz, October 17 could be the day scheduled for the bidding of two new IPL franchises by the BCCI.



If the reports are true, the bidding will take place on the opening day of the T20 World Cup 2021 in Oman and two days after the scheduled final of the cash-rich Indian Premier League phase 2.



It is learnt that BCCI has already informed all the involved active entities who have shown their keenness in acquiring a new IPL franchise.



The reports further suggest that three key dates have been allotted by the BCCI. Any issues regarding the bidding process can be resolved until September 21. The Invitation to Tender (ITT) document will be issued on October 5 while the final bidding process will begin on October 17.

The addition of two new teams will welcome a few problems mostly on the total number of matches. As of now, with eight current teams, the total games goes to 60 including four knockout matches. As of now, teams play seven away and seven home games while the number will go up to nine apiece with the inclusion of two new teams. The total number of matches will rise to 74 or 94.



According to the reports, the BCCI is ready to accept the grouping method used in IPL 2011 when a total of 10 teams competed in the IPL 2021. The teams were divided into two groups of five teams each and the teams played games inside their group before they locked horns with the teams of the second group.



The base price of the franchise is expected around INR 2,000 Crores while the party acquiring the team should have a net worth of INR 2500 Crores and a turnover of INR 3000 crore.



Moreover, a couple of stages will be involved in the bidding process. One is the legal one and the other being the financial stage. Initially, the legal stage will be cleared and BCCI will have a look at whether all the interested parties have their legal bases covered or not. The financial bidding will follow the legal bidding in which the turnover, net worth and all other bidding wars will be held.

New Zealand vs India: India?s New Zealand tour of 2021 for the three matches One Day International (ODI) series has been postponed, confirmed New Zealand Cricket (NZC) spokesperson, owing to choke-a-block schedule and covid restrictions of the hosts.



As per the schedule released by ICC in its Future Tour Programme (FTP), the Men in Blue were supposed to travel to New Zealand for an ODI series which was apparently also the part of ODI World Cup Super League 2023.?



However, the recent development from the two cricket boards confirms that the tour has now been postponed and will be held after the completion of next year?s T20 World Cup, which is slated to be held in Australia. BCCI and NZC will release the finalised dates for the postponed tour later once both the counterparts schedules a meet.

<h2>New Zealand Men's Jam-packed Schedule:</h2>



New Zealand has a packed schedule as of now. The team is playing against Pakistan in a limited-overs series after which they will participate in the IPL 2021 phase 2. The completion of the cash-rich Indian league will lead to the beginning of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE.



New Zealand will then tour India for two-Test matches and three T20Is after summing up the World Cup campaign. English batter James Vince has expressed his displeasure over the No-Objection-Certificate (NOC) of the England Cricket Board (ECB). He believes that the ECB is giving preference to the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in it's NOC policy. 
Recently, the 33-year-old batter thought that it will be better to leave Domestic Cricket in order to play in the PSL, but now he said that the NOC policy of the ECB is not right. He also went on to make a massive statement that how PSL is better than the IPL.

In a conversation with ESPNCricinfo, James Vince said that apart from me, many other players have failed to understand the NOC policy of the England and Wales Cricket Board. We weren't able to understand why the IPL is getting preference over the Pakistan Super League in the policy of the England Cricket Board? He said that the entire matter is decided by the relationship of the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board with the England Cricket Board, but I believe that giving preference to the Pakistan Super League over the IPL would have been a better decision, but it is not so.
<h3>In what way is the PSL better than the IPL? </h3>
The experienced English batter believes that the PSL is better because it last for less days in comparison to the cash-rich Indian T20 league. In such a situation, if the English players play in the Pakistani Super League, then their chances of missing International Cricket will be less too. 
Let us tell you that recently the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) released it's new NOC policy and in accordance to that policy, if the Three Lions are scheduled to play any international game, then an English player won't be allowed to participate in any t20 league, but if the IPL is taking place, then they can definitely continue to take part in the Indian T20 league.

Let us tell you that during ICC tournaments, the name of the host countries is mandatorily written on the jersey of all participating teams. West Indies &amp; the USA were the host nations of the 2024 T20 World Cup in June of 2024. 
Like all the other participating teams, the names of the West Indies and the USA were also written on the jersey of Team India. Similarly, Pakistan are the official hosts of the Champions Trophy but a news report of Geo Super claims that Pakistan's name is not going to be written on the jersey of the Men in Blue.

<h2>Shami's stormy performance in the nets after returning from his injury</h2>
All eyes were on fast bowler Mohammed Shami in the nets practice who bowled with his left knee heavily bandaged. First, he started warming up slowly under the supervision of bowling coach Morne Morkel. Initially running with small steps, Shami bowled for about an hour. After this, he did fielding practice to test his knee.
The 34-year-old slowly started to witness his fitness improve as he found his rhythm and bowled in a quick manner with a long run-up. He troubled young Indian batters like Tilak Varma and Abhishek Sharma in the nets and gave a tough challenge to the duo with a quick movement and bounce of the surface.

But, young Dhruv Jurel had some other plans as he explored the aggressive route by taking on Shami and made him go through a tough test. Despite the tough net bowling session versus the wicketkeeper-batsman, 34-year-old Shami continued to bowl in a quick manner for 45 minutes and did not seek any kind of aid from the strength &amp; conditioning coach or the physio of the Indian Team. 
After toiling hard in the nets, Shami practiced bowling a particular length with Morkel, where he targeted two stumps with accuracy. All of these signs are looking really positive for the Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer and he will surely be looking to play an important role in helping the Men in Blue win the T20i and the One-Day International series versus the Three Lions.
