The 2nd T20I match of England vs Australia was played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff where England won the match by defeating Australia by three wickets, and with this victory the series has also reached a 1-1 draw. The biggest contribution to England's victory was made by middle order batsman Liam Livingstone who played an innings of 87 runs.

England captain Philip Salt won the toss and invited the visiting Australian team to bat first. Batting first, the Kangaroo team scored 193 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Travis Head's excellent form continued in this match as well, he scored 31 runs in just 14 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.



Jake Fraser-McGurk, who was playing only his third match, also played an important role in taking the scoreboard forward. Fraser scored a half-century in just 31 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. Wicketkeeper batsman Josh Inglis scored 42 runs in 26 balls while batting-allrounder Aaron Hardie scored 20 runs in just nine balls.



While chasing the target, England lost their wickets in the form of Will Jacks and Jordan Cox for just 34 runs. Sean Abbott took the wickets of both the batsmen in the same over. After the dismissal of both, there was a partnership of 45 runs between Philip Salt and Liam Livingstone. After the dismissal of Salt (39), the Australian team made a comeback in the game for some time but Liam Livingstone soon turned the match in England's favour.

Liam Livingstone displayed great skill and scored 87 runs in just 47 balls with the help of six fours and five sixes. Jacob Bethell supported Livingstone very well, Bethell, playing his first international match, scored 44 runs in just 24 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes and leveled the England vs Australia series 1-1.

England?s Cricket Governing Body, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced England?s 16-member squad for the team's upcoming Test-Series tour of New Zealand on Tuesday, 29th of October.



The Kiwis and the Three Lions will be battling it out against each other in a three-match Test-Series in the months of November &amp; December.



The squad of the Ben Stokes-led team features an exciting new addition in the form of 21-year-old wonderkid Jacob Bethell, a talented Batting All-rounder hailing from Warwickshire. Bethell has been handed his debut five-day format call-up after making his debut in One Day International and T20 International earlier this year.



Bethell, who is well-known for his aggressive intent with the bat and skilled left-arm spin bowling, gained the attention of the English selectors versus Australia and now he's set to make his debut in the longest format of the game as well.

The 21-year-old is currently with England?s limited overs team in the Caribbean islands and he will join the Test team for the tour of the Black Caps after completing his white-ball duties alongside the duo of Jordan Cox and Rehan Ahmed. Wicketkeeper-batsman Jamie Smith will be absent from the tour of New Zealand due to his paternity leave responsibilities.



Since Jamie will be busy in welcoming his first kid in to this world, Cox will be taking his place in the team and will be making his maiden Test appearance as the wicketkeeper-batsman of the Ben Stokes-led team in the forthcoming three-match Test Series versus the 2021 WTC winners, starting from 28th of November onwards in the Hagley Oval Stadium of Christchurch.



Apart from this, no other changes have been made in England?s Test-Squad and it's similar to their squad versus Pakistan.

The Aussies have faced the biggest blow with all three frontline pacers ruled out of the Champions Trophy, as the Men in Yellow have not won a single CT match in the last two editions in 2013 and 2017. Pat Cummins, the skipper, and Josh Hazlewood have been ruled out of the Champions Trophy squad owing to injury, while <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitchell_Starc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mitchell Starc</a> has decided to opt out owing to personal reasons.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), one of the sides with the largest fanbases in the history of the IPL, marked a surprising IPL auction by picking the majority of English players, though they didn’t opt to retain a single player from their previous editions.
