<p>Shan Masood-led Pakistan suffered a shocking 10-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in the first test match of the two-match series and following that defeat, the home side is looking to bounce back with a win in the second test match and equalise the series, scheduled to be played between the 30th of August and 3rd of September at Rawalpindi?s Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.</p>



<p>The ongoing test-series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is a part of the International Cricket Council (ICC)?s World Test Championship 2023-2025 cycle.</p>



<p>The upcoming second test match is a must-win game for the Shaheens as they cannot afford to suffer yet another defeat against the Bangla Tigers or else they will end up losing the series.</p>



<p>Talking about the weather, the conditions are expected to be overcast and humid, with a huge possibility of extreme thunderstorms.</p>

<p>Additionally, winds will be blowing from the northeastern end at a speed of around 11 km/h, with wind gusts expected to reach a speed of 32 km/h. The chances of rainfall interfering with the first day of the test match are pretty high at 85% with a humidity percentage of 79%.</p>



<p>In the first test match of the series, Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh scripted history as they defeated the Shaheens for the first time in the longest format of the game, winning the match flawlessly by a margin of 10 wickets and taking a lead of 1-0 in the two-match series.</p>



<p>The Bangla Tigers are looking confident and they would be looking to carry forward their winning momentum of the first test into the second test and clinch the series 2-0.</p>

<p>The second test match of the two-match test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is being played at Rawalpindi?s Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.</p>



<p>While the first day of the second test got washed out due to rain, the second day was a really good one as Bangladesh, who won the toss and opted to field first, dominated the Pakistani batting unit completely as the home side got all-out for a total of 274 runs.</p>



<p>Off-Break bowler Mediy Hasan Miraz was the pick of the Bangladeshi bowlers as he took a really good five wicket haul with figures of 5-61 next to his name while seamer Taskin Ahmed played a good supportive hand as well as he picked up three important wickets of Abdullah Shafique, Salman Ali Agha and Saud Shakeel and ended the first inning with figures of 3-57 next to his name.</p>

<p>The Green Shirts got off to a horrible start as Bangladeshi seamer Taskin Ahmed sent the stumps of Abdullah Shafique for a walk and the opener was sent back to the pavilion without scoring a single run.</p>



<p>But, the home side executed the recovery process in a good fashion as opener Saim Ayub and skipper Shan Masood stitched a partnership of 100+ runs for the second wicket and ended the first session of the second test match in a dominating fashion. Shan was going after the Bangladeshi bowlers from one end while his partner Saim Ayub kept hold of the other end.</p>



<p>However, post the conclusion of the lunch period, both the set batters got dismissed after scoring their respective half-centuries as the visitors executed a comeback. Mehidy Hasan Miraz trapped Shan Masood for 57 runs in front of the stumps while Saim Ayub got stumped after playing a good inning of 58 runs.</p>



<p>Following the dismissals of both the set batters, the duo of Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel joined hands at the crease but the latter wasn?t able to stay for a long time as he nicked the ball directly into the stumps off the bowling of Taskin Ahmed and thus he got out very cheaply.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In the final over before tea, experienced left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan foxed Babar Azam in front of the stumps and he too went back after playing a decent knock of 31 runs in 77 deliveries.</p>



<p>This dismissal against Bangladesh meant that Azam has not scored a half century in his last 15 Test Cricket innings and he will have to find a way to return to his best if he wants to help his team to stay alive in the race of qualifying for the final of the World Test Champion (WTC) 2023-2025 cycle.</p>



<p>After losing Babar before the tea break, things got even worse for the Shan Masood-led team as the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team?s bowling attack continued with their attacking intent and kept on picking important wickets in the final session of Day two of the second test.</p>



<p>Fast bowler Nahid Rana got the better of the previous game?s centurion Mohammad Rizwan (29 runs in 63 balls) as he balled a beautiful back of a length delivery that managed to clip the edge of Rizwan?s bat.</p>



<p>Salman Ali Agha came into bat at number seven and he started the revival process of the Shaheen?s embarrassing inning and played an important knock of 54 runs in 95 deliveries.</p>



<p>However, he didn?t find any support from the batters at the other end as Mehidy Hasan Miraz sent the duo of Mohammad Ali (2 runs in 16 balls) and Khurram Shehzad packing to the dugout (12 runs in 41 balls) which put Salman under a lot of pressure.</p>



<p>After bringing up his half-century, Agha wanted to play aggressive strokes but in the process of carrying on with his aggression, he gave his wicket away to Taskin Ahmed as Shakib Al Hasan held on to a difficult catch.</p>



<p>Once Salman Ali Agha got dismissed, things became easier for the bowling unit of the visitors as Abrar Ahmed was the final Pakistani batter to fall after he got stumped and his dismissal meant off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Meraz picked up his 10th five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game.</p>



<p>Talking about the batting performance of Bangladesh, the opening duo of Zakir Hasan (0* runs in 3 balls) and Shadman Islam (6 runs in 9 balls) played out the first two overs successfully at the stroke of stumps. Najmul Hossain Shanto and his men trail by 264 runs.</p>

<p>The proceedings of the fourth day of the ongoing second test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi?s Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium got interrupted due to rain and the umpires decided to call an early stumps as Bangladesh ended day four with a score of 42-0 while chasing a target of 185 runs set by the Shaheens.</p>



<p>The Bangla Tigers need 143 runs to secure a historic test series win against the Shan Masood-led team. Opening batters Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam are still there at the crease and they will be keen on finishing things off quickly in tomorrow?s fifth and final day of the game.</p>



<p>Zakir has played the role of going after the Pakistani bowlers as he has scored 31* runs in 23 deliveries while Shadman on the other hand is batting at 9* runs in 19 deliveries and is keeping control of the other end.</p>

<p>Earlier in the day, the visitors inflicted an all-out on the home side for 172 runs after the seam bowling duo of Nahid Rana (4-44) and Hasan Mahmud (5-43) completely dominated the Pakistani batting unit with their pace and bounce as the batters were unable to find an answer against the sheer brilliance of the duo.</p>



<p>The Green Shirts started day four at the score of 9-2 and got off to a decentish start as captain Shan Masood (28 runs in 34 balls) and opener Saim Ayub (20 runs in 35 balls) got involved in a partnership of 38 runs for the third wicket.</p>



<p>However, things started to go downhill for Pakistan as Ayub departed after fast bowler Taskin Ahmed managed to dismiss him.</p>



<p>Captain Shan Masood followed suit as Nahid Rana sent him back to the dugout in the 17th over.</p>



<p>Following the dismissals of Masood and Ayub, experienced players Saud Shakeel (2 runs in 10 deliveries) and Babar Azam (11 runs in 18 deliveries) were expected to steady the sinking ship of Pakistan, but, Bangladeshi fast bowler Nahid Rana had some other plans as he got the better of both the batters in quick succession which made things even worse for the hosts.</p>



<p>Babar once again failed to convert his start into a big inning and this was his 16th inning without scoring a half-century in the longest format of the game.</p>



<p>The Shaheens were struggling at a score of just 81 runs at the loss of six wickets but the middle order duo of Salma Ali Agha (47 runs in 71 deliveries) and Mohammad Rizwan (43 runs in 73 deliveries) initiated the saviour act for their side and stitched a useful partnership of 55 runs for the seventh-wicket.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Just when it looked like the Green Shirts will get an opportunity to come back in the match, Bangladeshi skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto handed the ball to 24 year old Hasan Mahmud and he repaid his captain's faith in him as he went to dismiss Rizwan and Mohammad Ali in consecutive deliveries.<br></p>

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has reportedly asked the BCCI to ban commentators Simon Doull and Harsha Bhogle from Eden Gardens after they criticized the pitch curator for not favoring KKR.
