Ramiz Raja officially remove as Chairman PCB: Shehbaz Sharif, the patron of the cricket board and the prime minister of Pakistan, formally initiated the ouster of Ramiz Raja as PCB chairman and the present board. Ramiz's chairmanship is now effectively over, despite the need for some procedures to be completed. This puts an end to a few days of escalating and hysterical speculation about an imminent regime transition.



A 14-member management committee, led by former chairman and well-known media expert Najam Sethi, will oversee activities in the interim. The group also includes former Pakistan captains Shahid Afridi and Sana Mir. The PCB's constitution will need to be changed by the committee within 120 days in order to reinstate the 2014 version and replace the present one (put in place in 2019).

Najam Sethi tweeted a post writing, "The cricket regime headed by Ramiz Raja is no more. The 2014 PCB constitution stands restored. The Management Committee will work tirelessly to revive first-class cricket. Thousands of cricketers will be employed again. The famine in cricket will come to an end."

The Prime Minister's office had earlier released a summary from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) and a more formal notification of the events, which corroborated speculations that had been circulating over the previous few days as a result of Pakistan's loss to England in Karachi. The 0-3 home defeat ended an unbelievable home winning streak.



Ramiz Raja's expected departure will be the most visible consequence, but the major task for the new committee will be to repeal the present board constitution and reimpose the 2014 version. In actuality, a board change is not specifically mentioned in the IPC's summary that was forwarded to the prime minister's office. The constitutional revision that will allow department teams to play domestic cricket is its main priority. Because the 2019 constitution does not recognize departmental cricket, the outdated constitution that does is being brought back, and an interim management committee will be tasked with carrying out that, which is why the existing administration led by Ramiz is being replaced.



The PCB faced criticism for abolishing departmental cricket because it suddenly left hundreds of cricketers unemployed. It is important to remember that several department sides had already stopped participating in sports before Imran's action, and given the current economic situation, it's possible that these groups would be reluctant to recruit a team of cricket players.



Sethi also shared some of the formal papers which were signed by the Deputy secretary of sports, which rectify that Ramiz Raja has been officially sacked as PCB chairman.

Asia Cup 2023: Days after the Asian Cricket Council admitted that the Asia Cup 2023 will be conducted under a hybrid model, Zaka Ashraf, the PCB's likely next chairperson, delivered a bombshell on June 21 voicing his doubts. Zaka Ashraf rejected his predecessor Najam Sethi's prepared "hybrid model" for the Asia Cup 2023.



Zaka Ashraf, who soon will be the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), criticized the "hybrid model," arguing that Pakistan should host the entire tournament by itself. According to the existing arrangement, Sri Lanka and Pakistan would each host a portion of the continental competition, but Ashraf isn't pleased that the island nation was getting more than half of the matches of Asia Cup 2023.



"The first point is that I had rejected the hybrid model (for Asia Cup) in the past itself - because I do not agree with it. The board of the Asian Cricket Council had previously decided that it should be held in Pakistan, then we should host it," Ashraf stated.



"All the main matches are happening outside (of Pakistan). Nepal and Bhutan are going to play in Pakistan - which is not fair for Pakistan. I do not know what the board has decided previously, I do not have access to the information. I will check, whatever is doable in the shortest possible time, will do that for the betterment of Pakistan," he concluded.



ACC also responded to the matter and they looked quite solid in their stance of conducting the ASIA CUP 2023 in a Hybrid Model.

An ACC member was found quoting PTI, "The Asia Cup model has been accepted by ACC and there would be no change. Ashraf is free to say whatever he wants." The ACC member was quite confident that nothing is going to change in Asia Cup 2023 accepted hybrid model. 



Ashraf modified his tone when his remarks sparked intense discussion among cricket fans on social media and received a blunt unofficial response from ACC, saying he "can't do anything about it" now that the decision has been made.



"In my personal opinion, this whole hybrid model isn't beneficial for Pakistan and I didn't like it. Being a host, Pakistan should have negotiated better to make sure that the entire tournament should have played in Pakistan. Sri Lanka taking the bigger lot of games, leaving Pakistan with only four games, isn't in the best interest of our country" said Ashraf.



"But I see the decision has been made, so we have to go with it. I will not block or have any intention not to comply with the decision. I cannot do much about it but to honor the commitment. But going forward, every decision we make will be made for and in the interest of the country," he added.



Ashraf affirmed that he would not attempt to invalidate the agreement that the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Asian Cricket Council had previously reached.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi: The global governing body of Cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has provided an explanation regarding why no officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were present on stage during the presentation ceremony of the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 final in Dubai. 
The ICC gave clarifications regarding this matter after India Today asked them about the absence of PCB's representatives at such a big event. 
According to an ICC spokesperson, Mohsin Naqvi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was invited to attend the Champions Trophy 2025 Final award ceremony but he didn't come. 
"Mr Mohsin Naqvi wasn't available and he didn't travel to Dubai for the Champions Trophy Final," the spokesperson said. 
Cricket experts &amp; fans raised concerns about the absence of Pakistani representatives during the award ceremony. In response, the Global Cricket Governing Body explained that it follows the same rules for all of their tournaments.
<h2>Why were no one from the PCB at the Champions Trophy Final award ceremony? </h2>
"Only the head of the host board, such as the chairman, CEO, president, or vice president, is invited by the ICC to attend the awards event. Even if they are at the location, other board officials are not allowed to get involved in the stage operations", the spokesperson stated. 
The Global Cricket Governing Body made it clear that this particular rule was not just specifically used for the Champions Trophy, but it is applicable to all the tournaments held by the ICC. The only reason no PCB was present on stage during the presentation ceremony was that the designated delegate of Pakistan didn't attend the event. 
However, some news reports claim that the Pakistan Cricket Board is unhappy with the situation and they are planning to raise this particular issue with the ICC. They will be asking why Sameer Ahmed Syed, the CEO of the PCB, was not invited to be a part of the awards distribution ceremony despite being present at the venue as the director of the tournament. 
"Despite the fact that a significant PCB official was present in Dubai, it is alarming that Pakistan was not represented at the closing ceremony," a source stated.
The all-important summit clash of the eight-team tournament took place in the city of Dubai after the Indian team wasn't allowed to play their matches in Pakistan due to the Indian Government's refusal to send them to their neighboring country.
