Pakistan will not take part in ODI World Cup 2023 in India, says PCB Chairman: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Ramiz Raja has threatened India that it will not take part in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held in India if India doesn?t make a trip to Pakistan for the next Asia Cup.&nbsp;



Raja further advocated his stance by saying ?Who will watch? the World Cup if Pakistan pulls out of the ODI World Cup 2023 in India?



?If Pakistan doesn't take part in the World Cup scheduled in India next year, who will watch it? We have a clear stand: If the Indian team comes here [for Asia Cup 2023] then we will go for the World Cup. If they don't come then they can play the World Cup without us," Raja told Urdu News.



The former Pakistani cricketer added that his side has defeated the ?Billion Dollar Economy Team? twice in the recent past - in T20 World Cup 2021 and in Asia Cup 2022, earlier this year.

"We will adopt an aggressive approach. Our team is showing performance. I've always said we need to improve the economy of Pakistan cricket, and that can only happen when we perform well. In the 2021 T20 World Cup, we beat India. We beat India in the T20 Asia Cup. In one year, the Pakistan cricket team defeated a billion-dollar economy team twice," he added.



Interestingly, a few months ago, Jay Shah, secretary of the BCCI and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President, said that the Indian national cricket team won?t travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. The continental tournament will be shifted to a neutral venue if India were to take part.



Following the statement, PCB came to action and called an emergency meeting with its officials. The cricket board expressed its dissatisfaction with Shah?s remark as they were said without prior consultation with the office bearers of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Pakistan even pressurised to renounce its ACC membership after the statement.



Meanwhile, Anurag Thakur, Union Sports Minister, stated that India can?t be overlooked as it is a major power in World Sports.



"Wait for the right time. India is a major power in the world of sports &amp; no country can overlook India," said the Union Sports Minister to news agency ANI.

Ramiz Raja ,the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) responded aggressively to Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI and the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), last month when he said that Team India players would not be permitted to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup the following year and that he wanted the location changed to the United Arab Emirates. Ramiz reaffirmed his position that Pakistan won't visit India for the ODI World Cup in 2023 if India doesn't come for the Asia Cup, despite PCB's response to the declaration last month. Responding to Rameez Raja's claims, Anurag Thakur in an interview with ANI said- "Wait for the right time. India is a major power in the world of sports &amp; no country can overlook India. Over the years, India has undoubtedly established themselves as one of the biggest powerhouses in cricket, having gained the rights to host three of the next big ICC events. No other country has been given the right to even host two of these ICC events."



In the past month, he said that "Next year, the World Cup will be held in India, and teams from all over the world will also play because today no one can deny India in any field. What is the cricket world apart from India?"

Pakistan threatens to pull out of Asia Cup 2023 in case of venue change: Ramiz Raja, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief, has asserted boldly that his team would consider pulling out of the Asia Cup 2023 if the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) moves the tournament to a neutral venue. The India-Pakistan tussle for the Asia Cup 2023 is far from settlement and there is a lot to see in the coming few months as we head closer to the tournament.



On the sidelines of the Pakistan-England Test series, Raja said his country has won the rights to host Asia Cup 2023 fair and square and they won?t back down on it.



"It's not as if we don't have hosting rights and we're pleading to host it," Ramiz said on the sidelines of the Pakistan-England Test in Rawalpindi. "We won the rights fair and square. If India doesn't come, they won't come. If the Asia Cup gets taken away from Pakistan, maybe we're the ones that pull out."



Earlier, PCB had also threatened to renounce its Asian Cricket Council (ACC) membership following Jay Shah?s, who is ACC President and BCCI secretary, remark that the Asia Cup 2023 would be shifted to a neutral venue.



After the annual general meeting of the BCCI, Jay Shah said, "the Asia Cup 2023 will be held at a neutral venue.? Following this statement, India?s union minister of Sports, Anurag Thakur said that India?s visit to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 would completely rely on clearance from the home ministry.



Of late Pakistan has successfully hosted a couple of giant cricket teams to once again establish friendly playing conditions in their country. Recently they hosted Australia and now their home test series with England is underway.

Raza questioned ACC's intentions of rewarding the hosting rights of the prestigious Asia Cup 2023 to Pakistan and then trying to snatch it away.&nbsp;



"Why give it to us in the first place and then make all those statements about India not travelling to Pakistan? I accept that India won't come because the government won't allow them to come - fine. But to take the Asia Cup away from the host on that basis isn't right,? said Raza.



The cricketer-turned-commentator added that efforts should be made to resume bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan. He mentioned that he was enormously loved in India by the fans when he was a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as a commentator. Moreover, the fans want to see India-Pakistan play on the field.



?There is no contest if India and Pakistan are not playing. I have mentioned it so many times. I have always been loved in India; I've done so many IPL editions [as a commentator]. I know the fans want to see India against Pakistan. You saw what happened in the World Cup - 90,000 fans turned up [at MCG].?

According to recent developments, Ramiz Raja may be replaced as the board's chairman, according to a report on Saturday from Geo News, which cited sources. This would signal a change of leadership at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Sources claim that Najam Sethi, a former PCB head, is a serious contender for the position.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz reportedly had lunch with Sethi in Lahore. "PCB's constitution of 2014 should be restored. After its restoration, departmental sports will be revived,"&nbsp; the reports cited the premier as stating. They claimed that Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, has also hinted at replacing Raja with Sethi.

According to the sources, the summary of the appointment of a new chairman has been given to the Prime Minister's House by the secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC). According to the sources, the prime minister may order the reinstatement of the PCB constitution from 2014.



Raja, a former Pakistani captain and World Cup champion in 1992, was chosen in September, last year to serve as PCB's 36th chairman for a three-year tenure.



Several times in the past, there have been rumors that Raja would be removed as PCB chairman; however, Raja denied the rumors and maintained that he would not be leaving.



In 2018, when Imran Khan took office as prime minister, Sethi resigned from his position as PCB chairman. Sethi was appointed to a three-year term in 2017, but his strained relationship with PM Khan caused him to resign early. Sethi also worked as the PCB chairman in 2013 and 2014.

A 14-member management committee, led by former chairman and well-known media expert Najam Sethi, will oversee activities in the interim. Najam Sethi tweeted a post writing, "The cricket regime headed by Ramiz Raja is no more. The 2014 PCB constitution stands restored. The Management Committee will work tirelessly to revive first-class cricket. Thousands of cricketers will be employed again. The famine in cricket will come to an end."

The Prime Minister's office had earlier released a summary from the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) and a more formal notification of the events, which corroborated speculations that had been circulating over the previous few days as a result of Pakistan's loss to England in Karachi. The 0-3 home defeat ended an unbelievable home winning streak.



Ramiz Raja's expected departure will be the most visible consequence, but the major task for the new committee will be to repeal the present board constitution and reimpose the 2014 version. In actuality, a board change is not specifically mentioned in the IPC's summary that was forwarded to the prime minister's office. The constitutional revision that will allow department teams to play domestic cricket is its main priority. Because the 2019 constitution does not recognize departmental cricket, the outdated constitution that does is being brought back, and an interim management committee will be tasked with carrying out that, which is why the existing administration led by Ramiz is being replaced.
