Lack of inspiration is one of the biggest reasons why Pakistani fast bowling is on the decline. We have seen Wasim and Waqar getting inspired by Imran Khan. Imran Khan groomed these pacers before leaving the international circuit. Wasim and Waqar groomed players like Asif, Amir, and Shoaib before leaving. &nbsp;



But did Asif and Amir carry on the legacy? I?m not talking about their unfortunate incident in England. Every player makes mistakes and they did that as well. But they should have at least been keen on giving their skills to younger pacers. Maybe make academies in the local areas of Pakistan. &nbsp;



<h2>Lack of Scouting has Cost Pakistani Fast Bowlers:&nbsp;</h2>



Earlier, the Pakistani coaches had an eye for good players. Shoaib Akhtar was picked from the grounds of Rawalpindi. Earlier they had an elite scouting system. Rashid Latif was once in charge of the academy which worked on grooming these young pacers. The MRF Pace Foundation also needs to have a vast expanse in the small towns of Pakistan. The MRF organization is a Chennai-based organization. India and Pakistan have their differences but for the growth of the sport, they need to keep these differences aside. &nbsp;



<h2>Injury management has Costs Pakistani Fast Bowlers:&nbsp;</h2>



In India, the NCA has introduced strong plans for the rehabilitation of injured players. The NCA has worked especially on injury-prone players like Hardik Pandya and Deepak Chahar. A similar structure can be introduced by the PCB. The PCB management is working on such a world-class system or world-class academy under the supervision of Ramiz Raja. Hasan Ali, Mohammad Irfan, and Mohammad Abbas are players who could have had longer careers if their injuries could be managed. &nbsp;



During the World Cup of 2003, Shoaib Akhtar was having pain in his knees. The Pakistani physio during those days made sure that Shoaib plays the game against India in full bloom. These are characters whose contributions go unnoticed. Such characters, help in making legends. &nbsp;

Wasim Akram Reacts To Jay Shah's Statement On Asia Cup 2023: For the past few days, there has been a heated argument between India and Pakistan regarding the Asia Cup 2023. All this was triggered after Jay Shah, who is the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), first said that "the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan, and the Asia Cup 2023 will be held in a neutral venue, not in Pakistan." "The hosting rights of the Asia Cup were awarded to Pakistan, the entire council awarded the rights. It is just not fair," he concluded.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Winner Predicted by Wasim Akram: Pakistan's former fast bowler and captain Wasim Akram ranks Pakistan atop against all other teams in the world to lift the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India owing to its fast bowling lineup. Talking to Sports Tak, Wasim Akram said Pakistan's fast bowling unit is currently second to none in world cricket and possesses the quality to lift the coveted trophy.

He cited how lethal Shaheen Shah Afridi can be, who has recently led his Pakistan Super League (PSL) team to tournament victory. Besides Afridi, the likes of Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf make Pakistan's fast bowling unit special.



?Shaheen Afridi is currently in prime form. He has led his team to victory in the PSL for the second time. He is developing pretty well as an all-rounder. Then there is Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. (Mohammad) Hasnain is there, Ihsanullah is an exciting young fast bowler," he added.



The cricketer-turned-commentator added that because the nature of pitches in India is largely batter's friendly, team with a formidable bowlers will eventually succeed in making it through.



?I think because the World Cup is happening in India, it is the team with the stronger bowling attack that will succeed because the pitches tend to be batter friendly,? he said.



<h2>In-swinging deliveries have troubled Indian batters: Wasim Akram</h2>

Akram then went on to address the Indian batter's shortcoming to tackle the in-swinging deliveries. He said although the angling deliveries have troubled the Indians, they would find a way to pass the problem.



?It is the angle that makes it difficult and especially when ball the comes in," he said. "At the same time, India have some great top-order player. Be it,?Virat Kohli, be it,?Rohit Sharma and?KL Rahul, all of them are greats of the game and they will figure out the problems.?



Notably, the Indian top order faced a similar challenge against Mitchell Starc in the recently held 2nd ODI between IND and AUS. Starc wreaked havoc with his moving deliveries and dismissed the Indian top order in his first spell.



In fact, Starc went on to scalp his career's ninth ODI five-wicket haul during the IND vs AUS 2nd ODI. Lauding the pacer's abilities, Akram said: ?Let?s give credit to Mitchell Starc. He bowled brilliantly and the pitch was also very lively. And the way the ball was seaming around at one point I thought I am seeing a match in Australia or New Zealand."

IND vs AUS: Wasim Akram warns BCCI: Former Pakistan bowling legend, Wasim Akram reckons the upcoming IND vs AUS ODI series is "unnecessary" as it could lead to fatigue in the players ahead of the marquee ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Akram's warning came after India defeated Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 Final in Colombo by 10 wickets.



Notably, Team India is set to play a three-game ODI series against Australia, starting September 22. The two sides will meet in Mohali for the first fixture, followed by games in Indore and Rajkot on September 24 and 27 respectively.



It is also noteworthy that the ICC World Cup 2023 begins eight days after the IND vs AUS ODI series conclusion, on October 5 in Ahmedabad.



Wasim Akram, the former Pakistan skipper, felt that the Indian team has been on the road continuously since August 2023. There were a couple of back-to-back matches in the Asia Cup 2023 as well. So the ODI series against Australia might put pressure back on the players, who are continuously playing competitive cricket.



He argued that the players have to be fresh and in the right mind space before such a big event like the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Moreover, India, being one of the favorites of the tournament, needs to make sure that all the boys are fresh and ready to rock.



?There are different venues and traveling in India? it takes a day (between every match)," said Wasim Akram on Star Sports post India's resounding win against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 Final.



"You need to preserve energy before the World Cup. I don't know why they are playing three ODIs (against Australia). It was probably done a long time ago, but it was a bit unnecessary. You don't want to be tired before a mega-tournament where you are favorites at home. If you want some more players in the squad, you can play those in the three ODIs against Australia,? he said.



The BCCI is yet to announce India's squad for the Australia ODI series. If nothing goes wrong, the players named for the Asia Cup 2023 will take the guard against Australia as well. There might be a few changes in the squad, depending upon the requirement, but the overall dynamics of the team would remain the same.



The upcoming series against Australia becomes important for India as it will be their final chance to make improvements to their game before the much-important World Cup 2023. Australia being a tough opponent, would provide India with an opportunity to take their preparation to its climax, and vice-versa.

Even though the tournament has progressed to its second half, the fans and cricket experts are still keeping a close watch on the controversy. In the recent addition to it, former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram believes that Rohit Sharma might not continue with his IPL franchise in the next IPL season, and will likely join other teams.



It all began when Mumbai Indians (MI) dropped a bombshell announcing that Rohit Sharma would no longer lead the side, and it would be all-rounder Hardik Pandya who was made to sit at the helm. 



The move didn't rest well with the fans, and even with the experts, as it looked more desperate one. Although the controversy had already begun with the fans not liking the decision, it actually took a rage when MI played their first game of the season against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad.



MI fans, who were in displeasure, booed Hardik Pandya at the toss and even during the field. The criticism continued, even when Mumbai Indians (MI) played their first home match against Rajasthan Royals. The home fans attacked the franchise with their constant booing at the Wankhede Stadium.



It went to a certain point that some reports emerged that the MI contingent had divided into two factions with one supporting former captain Rohit Sharma and the other being on Hardik Pandya's side. However, there was substantial proof to support the reports.



To make it worse, MI's performance hasn't been up to the mark this season. The five-times IPL champion, under Rohit Sharma's captaincy, has maintained a spot at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table, with just a few wins in 11 matches.

Meanwhile, amidst all this, Wasim Akram reckons Rohit Sharma will no longer remain glued with Mumbai Indians (MI) and will likely move out of the franchise in the next IPL season. Notably, Akram had previously disapproved MI's move to dethrone Rohit Sharma from the leadership spot.



"I have a feeling, he [Rohit Sharma] won't be at Mumbai Indians (MI) next [IPL] season," Wasim Akram told Sportskeeda recently. 



The legendary pacer further added that Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir as a pair would be great to see at the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).



"I would love to see him at KKR. Imagine him open there, Gauti as a mentor, Iyer as a captain. They will have a very strong batting, at that wicket (Eden Gardens). He bats very well on any wicket, he is that great a player. But it will be good to see him at KKR," he added.



The next edition of the Indian Premier League (<a href="https://iplt20.com">IPL</a>) will have a mega auction. The teams are likely to have at most 5 players retentions from the previous squad while the rest of the players will be at the auction table.

Pakistan National Cricket Team: Former Pakistani skipper Rashid Latif has made a sensational claim that he's going to expose the dark secrets of match-fixing. He claimed that he will expose everything about the period when match-fixing was at its peak. Latif played for the Pakistan Men's National Team from 1992 to 2003 in his career. 
He is going to expose everything related to Pakistan match fixing history in his upcoming book and also went on to say that those players who were involved in match fixing should not be a part of Pakistan Cricket.

"I've begun working on the book. In the 1990s, the fixing of matches was it's peak. I'll tell you everything, including how the fixing procedure occurred and who was involved. I will tell what happened in the cricket of the 1990s and will also tell which former captain requested pardon from the President", Latif said as quoted by The Current PK
<h2>Was Pakistan cricket ruined?</h2>
In the 'Harna Mana Hai' broadcast on Geo News, the 56-year-old had also singled out a few former players without revealing their identities. He claimed that because the players of the 1990s didn't spare Pakistan cricket, it took the team 17 long years to lift the world Cup Trophy for the second time
"The current players will only attempt to win games if the players of the 1990s are kept apart from the squad and team management. I'm from the 1990s, too. They have been serving Pakistan Cricket for a very long duration. Thus, I believe it'stime for them to take some rest. 
<h2>Pakistan Cricket Team is being ridiculed</h2>
At present, the Pakistan Cricket Team is being ridiculed all over the world. After a long gap of 29 years, the nation got the chance to host an ICC tournament and they made elaborate preparations for it, but the players failed to live upto the expectations of the fans.
The host team did not last even a week in the tournament. Pakistan's arch rival India won the title by defeating New Zealand, after which there is a stir in Pakistan cricket.
