In a new and progressive decision, the New Zealand Cricket Board has agreed to the equal pay of the Men?s and Women?s Cricketers. This decision makes New Zealand the first country to have an equal pay policy in cricket. Earlier, the USA Women?s National Football team had asked for the same and received an agreement. In a ground-breaking decision, the New Zealand Cricket Board has agreed to the equal pay of the male and female crickets for the same amount of work. The five-year?agreement struck between New Zealand Cricket, the six Major Associations (the domestic cricket associations of New Zealand), and the New Zealand Cricket Players Association (NZCPA), will see the White Ferns and the Black Caps receiving the same match fees across all their formats and competitions.?



The New Zealand Cricket Players? Association had taken the guidance of Australian gender pay expert Yolanda Beattie. The share for the players will be 29.75% of the total broadcasting revenue. And from this, the division will be made among the male and the female cricketers. This agreement will be for the next 5 years. The official online broadcaster for the New Zealand Cricket Board is Amazon Prime. ?



?Translated, this means the highest-ranked White Fern would be able to receive a maximum of NZD 163,246 a year (up from NZD 83,432), the ninth-ranked, NZD 148,946 (NZD 66,266), and the 17th-ranked NZD 142,346 (NZD 62,833),? as claimed by&nbsp;New Zealand Cricket.&nbsp;

Women?s IPL likely to have 5 teams, 20 league matches in 2 venues: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is speeding its process to host the first-ever season of the Women?s Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. The inaugural edition of the Women?s IPL is likely to be played amongst five teams, as indicated by a report published in Cricbuzz.



It further suggested that the tentative window for the first edition of Women?s IPL will be March 2023, that is, after the Women?s T20 World Cup in South Africa and before the Men?s Indian Premier League (IPL).&nbsp;



Each of the five teams may choose to play five overseas players - 4 from ICC?s full member nations and one player can be picked from the associate countries. Notably, in Men?s IPL, only four overseas players are allowed to be named in the playing11.



?A maximum of four of the overseas players in the XI can be from the ICC Full Member nations, it?s being considered, whereas the remaining one can be from an Associate Nation,? said the report.



The decision of naming teams - either zone-wise or team-wise format - is yet to be done. The development is likely to proceed after the IPL office bearers meeting.



?Zone wise ? North (Dharamsala/Jammu), South (Kochi/Vizag), Central (Indore/Nagpur/Raipur), East (Ranchi/Cuttack), North East (Guwahati) and West (Pune/Rajkot) ? with matches held at non-IPL venues) and existing city-wise like with Men?s IPL (Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata ? with matches held at IPL venues),? added the report.

As far as the playing format is concerned, 20 league-stage matches will be held amongst the five teams. Each side may play the other twice in the league stage. After the end of the league stage, the team at the top of the points table will directly qualify for the finals, while the second and third-ranked sides will play out the eliminator. The winner of the eliminator will then play the final with the top-ranked team.



All the 20 league stage games are likely to be held in two venues in a city, just like the IPL 2022 was held in Maharashtra.



?With only 20 league games in consideration, as few as two venues will be involved per season for the WIPL. So the inaugural 2023 season could be played at two of the aforementioned venues, the 2024 season at the other two and 2025 at the remaining one plus one of the venues of the 2023 season,? concluded the report.

Women?s T20 World Cup 2023: The ICC Women's T20 World Cup is just around the corner. The ICC have announced the schedule for the Women's T20 World Cup, which will be held in South Africa this year. Following the qualifiers, Bangladesh and Ireland will take the final two seats in the 10-team tournament.



Beginning on February 10, 2023, hosts South Africa will meet Sri Lanka in the opening match of the eighth edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. The tournament matches will be played in Cape Town, Paarl, and Gqeberha, with the knockout rounds slated in Cape Town. The final will be held on 26 February 2023, with a reserve day available on the 27th in case of a significant interruption of play on the scheduled date.

ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2023: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched the first Women's U19 T20 World Cup, which has been in action from January 14 to January 29. The Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2023 is currently in operation, with Australia vs Bangladesh playing in the opening game on January 14 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.&nbsp; A total of 16 teams are participating in the Women?s U19 T20 World Cup 2023.

There will be 16 teams competing against one another, featuring 11 regular ICC members and 5 associate nations. Four groups have been formed for them. Because the group league will be played in a single round-robin format, each team will play three games during this stage. Following that, the top three teams from each group will move on to the Super Six Round.



The 12 teams who are qualified will be divided into two groups of 6 teams each. The top two teams in each group will then advance to the knockout phase. The winners will square off in the tournament final of the Women's U19 T20 World Cup at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on January 29 after the semi-finals on January 27.

The Women's Premier League&nbsp;(WPL)&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;women's Twenty20 cricket league&nbsp;played&nbsp;in India. It is organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The first season will&nbsp;run&nbsp;in Mumba DY Patil and Brabourne Stadium&nbsp;in March 2023&nbsp;with&nbsp;5 franchises. The Women's Premier League aims to provide a platform for women's cricket in India, and promote gender equality and inclusivity in the sport.

The Women's T20 Challenge is a professional women's cricket league in India that was first held in 2018. It features three teams, comprising of some of the best female cricketers from India and around the world, competing in a series of T20 matches.

The Women's Teams of Australia (AUS) &amp; England (ENG) are set to square off versus each other in a really exciting and fascinating 2025 Women's Ashes event and this historic rivalry is set to unfold in the homeland of the Mighty Australians. Alyssa Healy-led Australia will be hosting a strong English team in a multi-format bilateral series and a Ashes series always promises to be thrilling and entertaining. 
The Aussies had retained the Women's Ashes trophy after holding England to a 8-8 series draw in England. The Heather Knight-led team last won the Ashes way back in 2014-15 where they defeated the Kangaroos by a margin of 10-8 on Australian soil. 
<h2>Points-system method of the Women's Ashes</h2>
As witnessed in the previous edition of the Bilateral event in 2023, the forthcoming Women's Ashes will also be played under the points-system method. Both teams will be competing versus each other for a total of 16 points, with two points given after securing a victory in each limited-over contest and four points for winning the Test-Match. 
This points-system format ensures that the competition stays fierce and thrilling as both teams will be looking to give their best in the forthcoming series. Over the entire course of England's tour of Australia, they will be locking horns in six white-ball encounters and a single one-off Test-Match. If the Test-Match ends in a draw, then both teams will share four points each while if any ODI or T20i match ends in a tie, then two points will be awarded to both teams.

Prithvi Shaw did not find any takers as the Mumbai batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Prithvi, who had a base price of Rs 75 lakh in the auction, was released by Delhi Capitals but he did not attract any bids from the ten franchises.
Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has said that Prithvi Shaw is misunderstood in many ways but needed a 'jolt' in the form of the IPL 2025 Auction snub. Shaw has been part of the Delhi franchise since returning as the U-19 World Cup winning captain in 2018 and was bought for 1.2 Crores. Ahead of the 2022 auction, the Mumbai batter was retained by DC for Rs. 7.5 Crore but the past few seasons hasn't been great for the 25-year-old.
Speaking to Sports Today, Jindal said that Shaw is a great kid but needed a jolt to get up from his slumber. The DC co-owner feels that Shaw needs to work hard, get back the love of the game and get disciplined. Jindal ended by saying he hopes the Mumbai batter can return back to his best form
Delhi has backed Prithvi Shaw a lot. DC had hoped that he is a powerplay player and would hit 6 boundaries in one over. And he did that too. He hit Shivam Mavi for 6 fours in an over. He had a lot of potential and DC backed him to the hilt. We always thought that if Shaw manages to score, we will win. And we gave him a lot of chances," Kaif told on Jio Cinema.

Prithvi got a lot of chances and teams have now finally moved on, and it is a matter of embarrassment that he did not get a bid for Rs 75 lakh. Maybe now, he finally goes back to basics. Someone like Sarfaraz Khan got into the national team by scoring lots and lots of runs," he concluded.

The MI Emirates produced a clinical display with the bat and the ball, handing the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders a 28-run defeat at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the Match 14 of International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 on Tuesday, January 21.
MI Emirates got off to a strong start when they were asked to bat first, with openers Muhammad Waseem (38) and Kusal Perera making a strong stand at the top. The Sri Lankan Perera was the first to leave for 23 soon before the powerplay ended, following a 42-run partnership between the two players. Tom Banton entered, and he and Waseem made sure the MI Emirates maintained the run rate.
Banton was out for nine around the halfway point of the innings, while Waseem was out for 38 shortly after. Kieron Pollard replaced skipper Nicholas Pooran, but the seasoned right-hander struggled to get going and was eventually sent out for five by Ali Khan. With just over 6 overs remaining, the score was at 102/4.
Following Dan Mousley's dismissal for six, Romario Shepherd joined his skipper for the innings' last stretch. Jason Holder made a solid 49, but Pooran, who was hitting it cleanly, was almost at his half-century before he fell.

Shepherd was given more attention in the last few overs as a result. The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were further put under pressure after Waqar Salamkheil dismissed Laurie Evans for seven and Zahoor Khan caught Gous in the deep for thirty-four. Hopes of a recovery were raised when Sunil Narine and Andre Russell were called to the middle and embarked on a half-century stand.
But Narine was caught at cover for 13 in the 18th over, and David Willey was dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi in the 19th. The MI Emirates won easily, and Russell, who was still undefeated at 37 from 23 deliveries, was unable to lead his team across the finish line.

India and England will be locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series. Both teams have a mixed combination of seniors and youngsters in the team, and with the way they have played of late, it's fair to say that it will be an exciting series to watch. 
Coming to the first T20I, Ravichandran Ashwin backed Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma to open the innings for the team. The duo has been doing a decent job together as an opener and would be hoping to carry on the same form in the upcoming first match.

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali talked about the delay in the squad of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for the Pakistan team. He said that it might look like they are scared of announcing the team, but it seems that they don't know what to do. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner and all the teams have named their squad for the tournament except the hosts Pakistan. The Men in Green are yet to announce the team even though the deadline of 12th January has already been surpassed by a long margin. 
India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. Some reports also have revealed the players who will be playing, but an official announcement is yet to come.

Amid all this, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali commented on the same, saying that no one knows what is happening. He speculated that they might be waiting for the fitness report on Saim Ayub. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained: 
"Pakistan kya darr gaya jo abhi tak team announce nahi ki? Nahi dara nahi hai. Samajh nahi aa rahi hai -- karein to kya karein? (Is Pakistan scared to announce their squad? No, it isn't, just unsure what to do and what not). The biggest issue is whether Saim Ayub can return fit or not. It's still not clear." 
It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.
