IPL 2023 Prize Money: Besides being a competition of extreme class, rivalries, and opportunities, the IPL has also been financially beneficial for all the players who are part of several franchises. The tournament, which runs over 2 months with the participation of 10 teams, has a long enough event with 14 matches played by each team.
The qualified teams go on to win several prizes, with the winner gobbling up a sum close to 20 crores and the losing team, the runner-up, adding 13 crores to its account. The loser of the second qualifier has 7 crores, and the team losing the eliminators has 6.5 crores to their count.
This is evident from the prize money of IPL 2023, which shows that the organisers reward the teams based on the merit of their performances. All the qualified teams being rewarded will try and eye a larger sum by giving better performances in the next edition, thus bringing in thrilling encounters and nail-biting matches for all the spectators of this lovely sport.
Besides these awards, there are a set of competitive individual awards, including the "orange cap," "purple cap," and "super striker," to appreciate the individual's excelling in their fields, with a sum of Rs. 15 lakhs each. This not only applauds the player who wins it with his performance but also motivates others of equal merit to make 100% out of them and go on to be praised similarly.
The most intriguing aspect of the award is the Emerging Player Award, which comes with a cash prize of 20 lakhs to boost the morale of young players. Every year, this category of award highlights a promising young talent and inspires other youngsters to perform well in the following season if they were underwhelmed in their first season of IPL.
Other awards include "Crack it Sixes" of the season, "Power Player of the Season," "Most Valuable Player," and "Game Changer of the Season," all adding up to a sum of Rs 12 lakh each. With the shortest format requiring a lot of sloggers and hitters in the game, these awards are mostly for those who spice up the game with massive sixes and breathtaking finishes in the final overs of the innings.
