Mayank Yadav: In what proves to be a massive blow for Team India, young speedster Mayank Yadav has faced yet another setback as he has been ruled out for three months due to his recurring back-Injury.
Initial news reports suggested that a side-strain was the problem, but according to some fresh news reports, his back injury has reoccurred once again and has forced him out of Cricketing action for a lengthy period.
This unexpected injury has impacted the 22-year-old?s plans of making a return to Domestic-Cricket and it has cost him the chance to travel to Australia as a reserve seamer for the upcoming 2024 Border Gavaskar Trophy series.
Injury-Update of Mayank Yadav
According to the news reports of The Telegraph, the Board of Control for Cricket in India wanted the LSG pacer to participate in the fourth or fifth rounds of the ongoing Ranji Trophy competition. However, with his back injury still haunting him, those plans related to him have also been scrapped.
Earlier, the Lucknow Super Giants speedster was among the list of names considered for Indian Cricket Team's squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of South Africa as well as the 2024 Border Gavaskar Trophy.
"His back seems to be having some issues? It might potentially be a stress-fracture. He was supposed to participate in the Ranji Trophy starting in the fourth or fifth round, as per the previous recommendation from the NCA (National Cricket Academy), but that is no longer feasible. He will be absent for a while again," an official of the BCCI stated.
It's worth noting that, Yadav made his International debut in the recently concluded three-match T20 International series versus Bangladesh. He has displayed tremendous-potential as he dismissed six Bangladeshi batters in three matches.
But, as confirmed by the BCCI, the youngster seems to be having horrible luck with injuries as he has suffered yet another injury-setback. This injury setback not only rules him out of contention for the upcoming white-ball assignments but may even put his availability at risk for longer than expected.
Devendra Sharma, the personal-coach of Mayank Yadav provides an update regarding his injury
According to Devendra Sharma, the personal-coach of Mayank, the 22-year-old has been advised to take a break from playing Cricket as the Indian team-management are potentially looking to bring him back in the mix for next year's three-match One Day International series versus England in February. This means that he will not be seen on the Cricket field for a duration of three-months.
?He (Mayank Yadav) has not suffered a fresh-injury but he has been told not to play at present because the BCCI are targeting to have him back in the squad for the ODI's versus England,? Sharma said.
His injury is a big blow for both him and Team India, as he was seen as a player capable of increasing the strength of the Men in Blue's seam-bowling unit for the next-series versus Australia.
