The Biggest burden for KL Rahul is to perform, says Gautam Gambhir: Former Indian world cup winning cricketer and current mentor of Lucknow SuperGiants, Gautam Gambhir reckons the biggest burden for KL Rahul will be to perform for the team in IPL 2022. Gambhir who will work closely with Rahul at Lucknow SuperGiants believes that a hefty price tag will not hamper Rahul?s concentration.

The Lucknow SuperGiants roped in KL Rahul as the skipper of the side by shelling out a colossal sum of INR 17 Crores, which apparently is also the highest salary of any retained cricketer in the IPL 2022.

Gambhir, in his latest conversation, said that the support staff will have to ensure that Rahul?s isn?t loaded up with a lot of information and the right-hander must feel free mentally.

?It is for the support staff to make him feel free. The biggest burden will not be the price tag but the pressure to perform,? said Gambhir as quoted by NDTV.

The southpaw also asserted that the players? shouldn?t think of playing for India after spending just two months on the stage of the Indian Premier League.

?We want players who are honest, want to play for the franchise and who do not think of playing for India in those two months. Playing for India is a by-product. We want performances for Lucknow,? added the former cricketer.
