Tim Southee auctions a signed WTC Jersey to help a 8 years old cancer patient.

New Zealand?s all-format pace spearhead Tim Southee is auctioning a rare piece of his ICC World Test Championship 2021 final signed jersey to help and support an 8 years old girl who is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

The jersey is signed by the entire New Zealand squad picked for the ICC World Test Championship final against India.

Southee picked up one wicket in the first innings and four in the second to lead his team to a eight wickets victory in the inaugural ICC WTC Final at Hampshire bowl Southampton.

The pacer?s memorabilia has been placed to raise funds to aid the eight years old girl who is battling with an aggressive form of cancer since 2018.

As per the reports, Southee learnt about the situation of the tiny girl a couple of years ago and since then the 32- years old is helping her fight the disease.

?Hey guys, I am auctioning off one of my shirts from the @icc World Test Championship Final to support @hopeforhollie. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Beattie family,? Southee wrote on his Instagram.

?My family first learnt about Hollie?s story a couple of years ago through the cricket community and I have always been struck by the Beattie family?s perseverance, strength and positive attitude.

?Since hearing that Hollie required more treatment I have been trying to find a way to support in some small way,? he added.

Beattie is currently undergoing her treatment in Spain and Southee?s contribution will help her and her family to fight and recover fast.

The pacer further said that all the bids for the jersey are appreciated no matter small or big.

?I am hopeful that this shirt can help contribute in someway to the Beattie family?s ongoing medical needs as Hollie continues to fight. As a parent my heart goes out to them as they battle on.

?Any bid big or small is greatly appreciated!? he added.
