Indian fast-bowling is a lesser-known prospect. When we speak about fast bowlers, we often speak about Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult, Shaheen Afridi, etc. But not so often, Indians are mentioned in the list. Indian left-arm fast bowlers are too good as well. The performances of Indian left-arm pacers are often overshadowed by the right-arm pacers and spinners. Here is a look at the top 5 Indian left-arm pacers:
Irfan Pathan
Pathan was not much active in the past decade. Pathan was an integral part of the senior Indian Cricket Team that won the Champions Trophy in 2013. Irfan Pathan?s abilities with the ball were never a question. It is safe to say that his career was marred by Indian Cricketing Politics. His hard-hitting abilities with the bat made him the dynamic pace-bowling all-rounder that India required. Irfan Pathan was a player of class and was made for the grand stage.
Jaydev Unadkat
Jaydev Unadkat has been piling on the performances in the domestic seasons, year after year. Unadkat however, was never awarded a longer run in the Indian Cricket Team. He did feature in a series or two against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe but these are low-card teams. Jaydev Unadkat certainly made a lot of money from the IPL but. Unadkat is still expecting a national team call-up in the shortest format of the game. He truly deserves the same but the selectors have sidelined him.
Khaleel Ahmed
Khaleel Ahmed was the front runner in getting picked for the World Cup 2019 held in England. But injuries marred his chances. Ahmed was India?s go-to pacer in the Asia Cup held in UAE in 2018. Khaleel can bring the ball into the right-hander. He also works on hitting the batsmen on their pads.
Ashish Nehra
Ashish Nehra was an integral part of the Indian T20I team till 2016. He played his last game at Delhi in 2017 against the New Zealand Team. Ashish Nehra was India?s top performer till the early 2010s. His performance in the semifinal against Pakistan in the 2011 ODI World Cup cannot be forgotten.
Zaheer Khan
Zaheer Khan has to be on top of the list. He was active in the Indian cricketing circuit as a player till 2017. He even captained the Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2017 before announcing retirement. Since then, Zak has been an integral part of the management of Mumbai Indians. Zaheer?s match-turning spell in the thriller against England in the 2011 ODI World Cup is cherished to this date.
