India vs Bangladesh: The Asia Cup which provides the world with the strongest cricketing side in the entire continent of Asia has led to the formation of several famous rivalries so far in its history of 38 years.?

India along with several other teams that participate in the tournament have provided the supporters of various teams with uncountable memories of experiencing the intensity of each and every rivalry that has developed between several sides over the years. 

One such intense rivalry is between India and Bangladesh which has been worth remembering for the fans of both these sides on several occasions so far and possibly shall grow even further in the years to come. India and Bangladesh battled it out in an incredibly intense final of the Asia Cup back in the year 2016. Bangladesh while batting first put on a total of 115 runs in a match that had been reduced to 15 overs a side due to rain interruptions early on in the game. 

India in response to this lost Rohit Sharma for just 1 early in the innings, however Virat Kohli who joined Shikhar Dhawan began to rebuild the Indian Chase from then on. The duo added 94 runs for the 2nd wicket before Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for a well-made 60. 

Virat Kohli too was looking solid at one end however it was MS. Dhoni who stole the limelight with some brilliant big hitting towards the end to finish the run chase in style for India. India won the match by 8 wickets and lifted their 6th title. 

2. India vs Bangladesh (2012 Asia Cup)

Another close match between India and Bangladesh was played in the 2012 edition of the Asia Cup. Bangladesh after winning the toss and electing to field first managed to remove Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir early for 11. 

Virat Kohli in at no 3 put on a massive 150-run partnership with Sachin Tendulkar. The game will exceptionally be remembered for Sachin Tendulkar's century which was his 100th international century. India managed to put on 289 in their 50 overs. Bangladesh made a comeback after losing opener Nazimuddin early on. 

Tamim Iqbal stood solid at one end and continued to stitch partnerships with his teammates. Half-centuries from Jahurul Islam and Nasir Hossain kept Bangladesh on the hunt.?

Once Tamim got out, the onus was on the experienced middle order dip of Mushfiqur and Shakib who started scoring at a magnificent quick rate to get their side closer to the target. Mushfiqur stayed till the end and handed Bangladesh a famous win by 5 wickets.

The most memorable match between India and Bangladesh in Asia Cup was played in the final of the 2018 edition of the tournament. After choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh seemed at their peak as the openers put on a 100-run stand and looked in total control. 

Liton das in particular was looking in a great rhythm. Wickets started to fall abruptly once the opening stand was broken, but Liton held one end firmly and brought up a fantastic ton. Despite his efforts, Bangladesh was bundled out for 222. India during their chase too looked shaky as they lost wickets at regular intervals. 

The Bangladesh Bowlers didn't let the batters settle in at all as the chase became tougher and tougher for the Indians. The lower middle order showed some bit of resistance to get India close to the target. 

The match ultimately went until the last over and at one stage India needed a run off the last ball, which they managed to get in the form of a leg bye. India successfully scraped through and lifted their 7th Asia Cup title in style.
