Umran Malik asked to stay back in the UAE by the BCCI for T20 World Cup 2021.

ICC T20 World Cup 2021: India?s new pace sensation, Umran Malik has been asked to stay back in the UAE by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021.?

The speedster put everyone on their toes with his tearaway express deliveries in the Vivo IPL 2021 playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). It is noteworthy that Malik was drafted into the SRH squad as a replacement for T Natarajan, who was ruled out after contracting covid.

The pacer has just featured in one List A match and one T20 match for Jammu and Kashmir prior to featuring in the Vivo IPL 2021. SRH picked the pacer as a net bowler in the UAE.

In his very first game for SRH, Malik clocked 150 Kmph and in the second match against RCB, he broke his own record and clocked 153 Kmph to make it the fastest delivery of the Vivo IPL 2021.?

Virat Kohli heaps praise on Umran Malik:

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli was left dazzled with the raw pace of Malik and said that the bowlers like him should be looked after to ensure their progress.

"This tournament throws up talent every year," Kohli had said at the presentation. "It's good to see a guy bowling at 150 clicks. It's important to understand the progress of individuals from here on, how to maintain your body and how you can get the best out of them. The pool of fast bowlers being strong is always going to be a good thing for Indian cricket. Whenever you see talent like this, obviously you're going to have your eyes on them and make sure that you maximise their potential."

Malik?s raw pace deceived several top-class batters in his small outing. He ended his short Vivo IPL 2021 campaign after a defeat against Mumbai Indians. Though he went for a few runs in the match, he managed to deceive flamboyant Ishan Kishan (84 off 32) and disturbed the concentration of dangerous Suryakumar Yadav (82 off 40) to rescue his side from an extremely mammoth target.

The young pacer?s presence for India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021, as a net bowler, will assist the India batsman to prepare well against the fast deliveries. It is noteworthy that Pakistan, South Africa and New Zealand have pacers who can clock around and over 150 KMPH on a consistent basis and Malik?s presence will aid India to tackle such bowlers in the World Cup.

Virat Kohli-led Team India will face Pakistan in its opening match at the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on October 24 in Dubai International Stadium.
